They have two fully utilisable 350 test planes. My 2 cents? Customers are being picky so looking for the littlest things to stall delivery and airbus is trying to get these out as soon as possible so will do as many test flights required to get them out as soon as possible to get these frames out this side of the year. I may be wrong though

Extra check flights more likely to be because frames are first flown in anticipation of delivery dates that are( progressively?) pushed back by the customer. Aircraft kept "warm" with regular check flights rather than being placed in longer-term storage. Look for the flight lengths - short durations would tend to support this theory.

That's how it can work.

ID defects / hold back some.

Advise HQ.

Delay personnel getting back onsite.

Another check flight.

Drip feed some of the held back defects / find some new ones.

And so on.

It`s the silence before the storm of the fifth Airbus quarter. I have seen posts that some deliveries are going on in 2021.
What is the "Boxing day" , please ?

Boxing Day is the 26th of December. It is observed as a public holiday in some countries.

Singapore Airlines MSN 460 9V-SJE was used by Airbus to do some testing. No information was shared to date. Perhaps we will know some time in near future. It left the production line in May 2021 without full livery, only repainted in full livery last month.

There was another delivery earlier today which I will be updating later and there are still 2 more days to go! 52 deliveries for 2021 would be perfect...one per week average!

MSN 460 for SQ was already two times filed for delivery as SQ8895 but was twice canceled so I guess this one is delivered on contract as well.

Yes indeed a good performance from Airbus this year and especially in December. Are these the final numbers for 2021 ?
MSN 528 for Air China was filed for delivery on 30th December but now it is filed for 2nd of January ( my guess delivered on contract in December )

Total deliveries for December 2021 was 12 (correcting a typo I made when I missed #9 in my monthly total, as I went from #8 to #10).
Total for 2021 was 52.
Total deliveries since December 2014 is 458.
