Correct. I realized my mistake later and it was too late to change it. I forgot that BOD is also a storage facility in addition to CHR. Thanks for the correction.

EDIT: I seem to remember no interior was installed yet before they were stored so that will be interesting to find out. I wonder if they're canalizing their a380 interiors for the a350 fleet?

I highly doubt that’s possible. Both the upper and lower deck of the A380 have zero in common with the dimensions of the A350 cabin, particularly where the cabin width and curvature are concerned

Yes, the wiring and installation would be very complex to be completed if they shove those from A380 into A350. They were delivered on contract to EY empty shell, directly flown to BOD.

Hi all, I was just wondering if there's a reason as to why certain airframes undergo flight testing before being painted, while most have it the other way around?

Case in point: MSN 460 had its engine runs and first test flight while still unpainted. On the other hand, MSN 472 was painted even before its engines were installed.

Probably just based on when they have a painting bay open and what aircraft is free for painting at the moment.

The standard is supposed to be before engine installation.

It would appear from looking at pictures of MSN460's first flight that she is involved in some kind of flight testing, which could explain why she is not only unpainted, but also has not been delivered in the usual sequence to SQ, which has already taken delivery of MSNs 464, 469 and 475 (SHT, SHU and SHV - Regional Config) with MSN472 (SJB - Long Haul Config) being prepared for delivery in TLS. The last time an A350 was delivered out of MSN sequence to SQ was when the first ULR (MSN216) was undergoing certification testing. She was registered as 9V-SGE whilst SGA-SGD were delivered first.

There appears to be some kind of measuring equipment connected to the fitting that's in place of the window ahead of Door 3L, and looking at the top of the tail, there also appears to be a fitting for a pressure cone to be mounted. Just my two cents on this...
