Good scoop. They were clearly going somewhere; interesting that they're going to Canada. The interesting change is that up until now, Amazon and non-Amazon stuff has been mixed on the cargo flights that Cargojet runs that include Amazon freight in Canada. If these are run under a CMI agreement, then that might not be the case. I guess it could be, but then why provide the airplane?

Interesting. Here’s a source: https://www.freightwaves.com/news/cargo ... -in-canada
I’m curious if this is going to be intra-Canada or if they’re going to have cross border packages with Amazon’s US network?

On another note, I believe Cargojet has 2 or 3 aircraft from CAM.

Thanks

Hopefully N999YV is next as its paint job flakes off a little more every time I see it.

My recollection is that the one aircraft was bought by Cargojet (or leased?) and the other one was still owned by whomever owned it. Both still operated by 21Air. So that makes sense. Both run for DHL...correct?
Both 21Air aircraft had the world's most-hideous livery. One down, hopefully one to go.

Not sure what the status is on those three, but 7 is certainly longer than usual, unless they're converted and Amazon is delaying delivery/conversion since they're not supposed to go into service for a few months if I recall? Certainly a bit longer than the usual turnaround at TLV, but I wonder if they got a late start at MEX and temp parked for a while there.

what is the change? Can you explain ?

When did it come out?
Apparently this one was being kept quiet by AMZ. Not sure why.

Because the general public has no need to know Amazon's flight schedule.

Although it can be reverse-engineered...

Very true.wjcandee wrote:Who is Amazon's "competitor" ? Why would "flight schedules" be top secret. This is not Area 51 stuff.
It's not top secret. You go to Amazon's website, you see how much widgets are, it tells you how much and when to expect them. It doesn't tell you where they are coming from, or how it will get to your house. All the public cares about is, "when will I have it?", not how it gets there.
If you send something via UPS or FedEx, they tell you when you need to drop it off for Next Day Air or Second Day Air, and they'll tell you the delivery parameters at the destination. They don't tell you what the flight schedule is or what hubs it will go through.
mcg wrote:This morning I made a stop at Whole Foods. I noticed that there was a UPS delivery truck parked in front of the store. I watched the driver exit the truck with 5 or so small packages, go to the Amazon delivery lockers in the lobby of the store and place each package in a locker.
What's interesting about this is that Amazon used UPS to move packages from one Amazon location (the warehouse the originated the shipments) to another Amazon location (the Whole Foods store). Amazon didn't use the 'in-house' Prime delivery system (planes and vans) to move this shipment. I'd note that Prime vans always deliver Amazon packages to my house.
