While we wait... What is one airport we think Breeze will surprisingly serve which we don't expect them to?

I’m going to say either SLC or PVU to link up their HQ to the network. I think it’ll be their only western station for a while.

Nothing tiny. No LAL, MLB, etc. At least to start off. They need to focus on markets that are almost guaranteed to fill an E190, not gamble on some risky markets with little to no existing air service.

I'd personally love to see Breeze serve UST. F9 used to serve it a few years ago and it was a profitable market, but eventually consolidated service with JAX.

Not sure whether I can see it happening, seeing as JAX is in the same catchment area and also underserved, but seeing as CHS seems to be one of Breeze's inaugural bases, maybe UST/St Augustine fits into Breeze's plans?

The point I was making had less to do with the viability of MCN than it was about the absence of PIT from the "list." Why start trying to convince ourselves that this "list" is the menu for BZ when we start right out the gate with a known exception? It almost seems like a list of places to go if they need to divert for some reason in the early days.

If you would read previous comments, you would have seen I have already said that list is nothing more than the approved listed of airports used for Proving runs. It’s not the list of airports they will service. If it’s not listed as a regular airport on the Ops Specs, the airline CAN NOT service that airport with flights.

Charleston isn’t listed as regular and they are getting the first route.
I don’t understand what is so hard to comprehend about the fact that this list is Strictly from Proving runs... :banghead:

You are talking about a company being managed by highly experienced and professional people. Do you really think they are going to file an updated airport list exposing their planned destinations before they launch service or make the initial route announcement when they have been this tight lipped to date?

Macon, Georgia? **crickets**

Contour’s Macon-BWI trips have done surprisingly well, pre-COVID, with summer monthly load factors well above 90%, which means numerous sellouts. I imagine that there is a market for less-than-daily Florida service there, as well, just not for an A320.

Breeze Avaition* Group, INC appears to have a business filing in Kentucky

(Edit: the direct link doesn’t want to work when copied over to here. Visit https://app.sos.ky.gov/ftsearch/ and search “Breeze”)

*its, uh, misspelled in the filing

Didnt Contour try MCN-TPA? Maybe Breeze can have better luck, I can see MCN-BWI/BNA/CLT/MCO/TPA/FLL

Question unrelated to launch: If the A220s are coming so soon (3rd or 4th quarter 2021, right?) then does that mean we could see transcons as early as late this year or next spring? I ask this because BZ/David Neeleman have made it very well-known that they will essentially be running the E190 and A220 fleets as independent of each other, with vastly different missions since they have vastly different capabilities - the E190 for short-haul low-frequency missions and the A220s for medium to long-haul including tatl, transcons, FL->BR, etc. It doesn't make much sense to run the A220s on E190 missions and under-utilize them, so I'm wondering if we will see a transcon or "western" expansion sometime soon.

Given the population density and demographics of Central Georgia I’d wager there isn’t much of a market from MCN to Florida. Most folks in that area go to the Panhandle or Daytona Beach, which are close enough to drive. Even Allegiant levels of cost isn't cheaper than piling the kids into the family car (which they will still need once they get there).

MCN isn’t getting service. Like I’ve previously said, there’s a large Embraer facility in MCN, hence why it was included in their list of approved airports. I’d guess they will be doing MX there.

I think it could be Breeze. SAT likes late announcements for some reason, seeing as when JetBlue announced their routes a few weeks ago, B6 announced early in the morning while SAT announced later in the day. SAT also used the word “Seriously” in their announcement post, and Breeze has been using the word “Seriously” in their social media pages :scratchchin:

After all the talk about underserved cities, I can't wait for them to launch a bunch of routes to those four from cities which already have service from some combination of G4/NK/F9/WN/maybe one legacy already.

There are plenty of combos out there that could use 2x service to those not currently flown.

They will probably add a few routes with Frontier/Spirit/Allegiant on it, but overall those cities have loads of unserved opportunities from them.

I think a lot of people took Breeze saying underserved wayyy too seriously. They gotta fill E190s and get revenue flowing in. Can’t be making a bunch of risky gambles. Like flying to Lakeland or Macon for example.
