No Islip either.

I admit to expecting both of those as focus cities. Perhaps later in the summer?

Just booked the TPA-CHS inaugural.

Smooth booking interface $131 for the RT including the paid seating.

Columbus? Seriously? That is Not what I would consider and underserved market. Pretty sure southwest flies to Tampa and Allegiant flies from LCK to MSY.

CAK and XNA are good adds

Interesting that SAT appears to be the only city that doesn’t connect to MSY/TPA/CHS. Perhaps a focus city when they start moving further west?

HSV makes a lot of sense, but I don’t think I would’ve expected MSY/CHS from there. Not sure how those will do, will have to generate some demand. I think they would easily be able to fill E190s on those two routes out of BHM, but best of luck to them in Huntsville

It’s a good one IMO. Barely any ULCC service compared to AUS, and a huge city in its own right. Makes sense to me.

G4 doesn’t fly LCK-MSY. WN and NK served MSY seasonally from CMH pre-pandemic but those flights have not returned. I think a Breeze-sized aircraft will do well on this route. G4 does however serve CHS seasonally from LCK.

The only real head-scratcher from CMH is TPA. Breeze going up against multiple daily WN/NK flights cannot end well. Having said that, I have thought the same about previous Ohio-Florida adds and demand seems to be endless. RSW is up to something like 6x daily at peak between 3 airlines. Crazy.

Say what you want, but this airline is the real deal and will be around for a long time. This rollout, including the app, is top notch.

Absolutely. From a technology standpoint, they are lightyears ahead of recent failed startups. I wasn’t a huge fan until today, but I’m definitely rooting for Breeze.

BHM is really close to HSV but they have OKC,TUL,XNA all with the same destinations. MEM should show up sooner than later I think especially MEM with MYS and SAT.

I think 4x is excessive on lots of these including my beloved XNA

The majority of the BHM metro population is at least 1:15 from HSV. I don’t think many will make that drive when they can drive an extra :45 to ATL and be able to pick between hourly flights to any of these destinations.

I like the two fare type names, Nice and Nicer!
Nice means you cannot even bring a carry-on, that should be quite interesting ! All those carry-ons in the Nicer zone at the front (according to seat map, half of the cabin, all the way to the exit row) and empty racks in the Nice back? I suppose the Nice guests can pay for carry-ons.

The change and cancel rules are pretty generous, I hope they stick.

Carryon bag for Nice is $20 fee per flight. Not sure if it costs more if you don’t pay ahead of time and show up and pay at airport.

But surprised there is not an up charge to sit in the bulkhead or exit seats, which presumably are the Nicer seats with more legroom.

Can you actually book it though? It looks like you have to do two separate transactions. From BDL only showing me CHS/CMH/ORF/PIT.

I was expecting DAY over CMH, though. At least a Neeleman creation realizes Columbus, OH exists. :duck:

I've said before that if there's one person I wouldn't be against, it's Neeleman, but this route map is so fascinating. It takes the 'point to point' construct, which is what I was concerned about, is turned into a hybrid here.

I look at this from a network and operational standpoint, and can sort of see what they're trying to do. Each city has at least three destinations or nodes on it (HSV excepted). e.g.: SAT to OKC, TUL, XNA. XNA to SAT, MSY, TPA. Some cities with more nodes. But each of them have at least one common crossover point for the sake of moving crews or doing a/c swaps. Seeing how the aircraft will flow will be interesting in terms of how they build their lines. They'll need that for operational flexibility and moving a spare around as/where needed.

The way I'm understanding it, the Nicer seats all have extra legroom? Even more so on the 195s vs the 190s, so I'm wondering if capacity is the same on both?

I went ahead and booked 4 flights to follow the first flight TPA-CHS-BDL-CHS-TPA..looking forward to hopefully seeing some others from here onboard!

Also surprised they're using major airports as bases. I would have thought they would be more secondary airport focused.

HSV also has 3 destinations (CHS, MSY, TPA). Good point regarding how they developed this initial hybrid route network to create that necessary flexibility. Initial reliability will be key in creating a positive reputation.

As long as you pay for the bag before someone has to physically take it from you, it will be the same cost. If a breeze employee has to process the payment, it will be significantly more to check.

All Nicer seats have more legroom than the Nice seats, but the Nicer seats pitch range from 33/34” (depending on aircraft type) to 39”. Obviously it is the bulkhead and exit seats that will have the greater pitch.

There is literally no reason to have to call in. The APP does everything and instructions are provided for just about every scenario.

If something outside of a known scenario pops up, we have included a function to directly chat with someone within the company to resolve the issue.

There's something to be said about being able to talk to someone, and that not being an option was the worst thing about Skybus. It might've been better had Twitter been a thing at the time.

There are definitely some surprises on the initial route announcement list, both in what is not being served and what is. There are opportunities for expansion from several of the focus cities in terms of unserved markets.

The biggest problem becomes if you don’t like the option that the App is giving you, and want to discuss other options. For minor events it is perfectly fine, but it will be interesting to see how satisfied everyone is if there is a major irrops event that effects many flights, and thousands of people, across the network. When everything is at a standstill is when a live person is usually best.

CHS has demand from a lot of those destinations. RIC and ORF because it is usually destinations they target sometimes for golf and stuff like that. Charleston also gets a lot of vacationers from those cities. Really the only city that I don’t feel will do well here is HSV. Even I know a couple people who are from there and would much rather have a cheaper flight home.

The Ohio destinations are gonna do really well since tons of OH vacationers come here by car.

There are definitely some surprises on the initial route announcement list, both in what is not being served and what is. There are opportunities for expansion from several of the focus cities in terms of unserved markets.

What was launched with was not 100% what was initially planned. There are many routes that would have been monopolies that were targeted but had to delayed into the future because the route structure was not conducive to allowing initial operating experience for the crews to be completely efficient.

Do we expect to see some western expansion? Would love to see them in LAS, but we're oversaturated with ULCC/LCC. Good luck to them!

Really the only city that I don’t feel will do well here [at CHS] is HSV.

At first glance HSV-CHS seems like an odd route. There is however a very large aerospace industry cluster in both cities. Boeing alone employs thousands in each. Perhaps this is the connection Breeze is eyeing? Just a guess.
