When booking flights, the flights comes up as MXxxx, so it should be safe to say their IATA code is MX

Sorry, it was buried at the confirmation page that requires you to sign in, so I didn't see it. In doing a dummy booking BDL-ORF. Nicer saves you like $5 OW if your doing carryon/bag/seat .And if your only taking a carry-on or bag it cost you $20 more plus nicer gives you the extra 2% back in travel credits, the nicer seat and snacks. I can see that I would be booking the nicer fare most of the time.

I believe this is the math Breeze is going for and my likely decision, if Breeze served LAX or LGB.

However, my cousins have left clothing at their most common destinations to avoid bag fees. They fly those teaser fares often! Since a few day jaunt airfare costs less than the meal they'll have with friends, why not. Their futon is heavily used and vice versa. The ULCC pricing has created an interesting lifestyle. With remote working and vaccines, those without kids travel a lot!

Dummy booking a few minutes ago

XNA/TPA. July 8th to July12, an extended weekend.

Breeze R/T with Nicer seats $230 with $7 and change toward future flight. Cheapest legacy on Kayak was Delta at $419 for basic.

That is basically nearly first class sans meal and booze for $190 bucks cheaper than basic on a legacy.

Congrats on getting a ticket, how quickly did you both have to book? I was online within an hour of the announcement and it was all sold out!

I was on there the second the website opened.

I'm in 18F and was done booking around 8:10a EST. Had to reselect my seat multiple times as someone else was grabbing it.

I mean, I’m a United loyalist nowadays, but that doesn’t mean I won’t be trying out Breeze from time to time. Always very curious about new airlines and their product offerings. I’m one of those people who just likes to fly for the sake of flying, so... day trip to XNA for some good bar-b-que sounds like a worthwhile endeavor.

You got XNA mixed up with Memphis or KC or something but if you want BBQ, Wright's in Johnson is one to sample.

Lot's of quality craft beers places.

Crystal Bridges Art Museum is free and stellar.

Oh I love MEM bbq. Hope BZ starts MEM soon. I love taking Amtrak (used to work there) but the ride is a bit long up from N.O. I was just guessing that XNA had a good spot or two - my grandmother is from small town Arkansas and it was always neat visiting the little local places there.

$39 Fares...39 Routes....95% of the routes have zero nonstop competition? SDF has 3 routes and all 3 have NS competition? CMH has NS to TPA. Maybe it makes good ad copy...but not 100% truthful

I've been seeing DL price match many BZ routes out of MSY with a stop in ATL - sub $100 roundtrips that are normally 300-400+. Their bread and butter these mid-sized cities around the Southeast, so it's no surprise.

Looks like G4 is responding to MX with new service XNA to PIE & FLL

And they are also may be premptively increasing service out of PVU to head off Avelo

Not that surprising when you consider Breeze only opened up less than a week ago.

The inaugural will likely be full due to journalists, enthusiasts, and airline personnel. It will be interesting to see what the loads are like in the first weeks though.

Allegiant should have started FLL years ago from XNA. Now they are making sure no on else does or at least hope they don't.

Ditto on PIE, their hand was forced by Breeze.

Allegaint announced AUS in Feb but that didn't stop Breeze from announcing SAT, a close by market.

I like like Breeze's fare structure and product better, at least what's being sold, will find out in July.

Allegiant should be adding SRQ, PGD, TYS, BOS, BWI , upper Midwest like MDW or MKE and flying LAX year round and looking into OAK and SLC or someone with A223s will be eventually.

Are Nicer seats ticked behind the scenes as a Nice seat + ancillary for the difference in fare, or as a seat with a higher fare basis?

If it's sold as a Nice fare with ticket selection/bag fees/etc as part of a prepackaged ancillary bundle that makes it a Nicer fare (similar to how F9 has The Works and Perks bundles), wouldn't they be able to dodge the 7.5% tax on the cost difference?

And on that note, it feels like F9/NK/G4 all retain a considerable amount of not-taxed revenue with the "carrier interface charge" loophole. Unless they have an in-airport ticketing option, I can't see a way for Breeze to play that game.

So did they finally actually fly paying passengers somewhere? Can’t believe this many pages, of where an airline should or could fly, for an airline that has done so little. All hype.

I know, I know...Simple Flying is not considered a "legitimate news source" on a-net, but they did put forth this semi-nugget:

https://simpleflying.com/a220-range-increase

Apparently Neeleman is working Airbus to do a MTOW/range increase for some of his A223's that are coming in the future. Does he eventually want MX to fly internationally from the US to Brazil? Is he also considering CONUS to Hawaii routes that fly from mid-continent cities? And then there might be the urge to fly Trans Atlantic?

Who knows???

A220-500 two versions. Higher cap short haul and low cap long haul.

Imagine an A225 in the kind of density Jetblue is doing in the A321LR.

I have a feeling that order for the extra 20 A223s are these longer range birds.

I'm not too sure there is enough of a diaspora market from TPA to support non-stops to Brazil. As for MCO, the competition to Brazil is heavy, with LATAM, GOL and Azul already established.

I think Neeleman intentionally talks about crazy and extreme examples to keep the competition guessing. Remember all those tiny airport examples that had been talked about and speculated? The smallest we got was ICT. I suspect that for at least the first 5 years that the A220 will be one of the following 1) Transcon, 2) Sun destinations and 3) seasonal upgauging from the E190/5 on popular routes from places like CHS and MSY
Experience is what you get when what you thought would work out didn't!

I'm not too sure there is enough of a diaspora market from TPA to support non-stops to Brazil. As for MCO, the competition to Brazil is heavy, with LATAM, GOL and Azul already established.

He is still the largest individual shareholder with Azul.

"Not crazy or extreme unless defined by the legacy carriers who am sure are watching Breeze closely. "Breeze will use the Embraer regional jets predominantly on shorter, one- to two-hour sectors. In turn, Breeze Airways plans to use the A220s on longer routes as a lower cost-per-trip alternative to A321-200NX(LR)s. Neeleman stressed that despite the newer type's higher capital costs, its fuel burn would be lower than that of the E190/E195s, even though the A220 is a larger aircraft.

Breeze Airways has sixty A220-300s on firm order from Airbus.

Neeleman is continuing to lobby Airbus to offer auxiliary fuel tanks as an option on the A220s, which would increase their range by some 600 nautical miles (1,110 kilometres) to around 4,000 nautical miles (7,410 kilometres), thus expanding the list of potential routes they can serve. Breeze Airways is also contemplating using the A220s on services to Europe and South America. The latter, Neeleman hinted, could be operated in partnership with Azul, which would make flights to secondary cities more viable."

They take delivery in Oct 2021 of the 1st A220...then 1/mo for next 5 years. I expect routes like: SEA-SDF-RIC, SFO-SDF-ORF to start.

Neeleman has also told the New Orleans news media that the 220s could open up international routes from MSY to Central and South America.

FWIW, I saw two A220 tow bars at the Breeze gate this morning when I flew SDF-CHS

Really surprised there hasn't been a report on the first flight on this forum.

I flew MX on May 28th. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. My flight (MX141; BDL-CHS) was about 90% full. The boarding was efficient and we left BDL right on schedule. During the two-hour flight to CHS, I was offered water, Utz chips and a kind bar. No middle seat on E190 is a huge plus. The only thing that is lacking for me is the IFE or Wi-Fi.

There are a couple of videos of Breeze's inaugural flight (TPA-CHS) on YouTube. Here is one example:

Question, did you try to connect to the onboard IFE through your iPad? It may not be active yet I’m not sure, but there will be IFE on the Ejets through passenger’s PED. No WiFi planned as of now for the Ejets, but the 220’s should have it.

G4 is the original hub buster. This is basically an imitation with smaller planes. But they were smart to imitate G4 since G4 makes money. I'm excited to see their growth!
Instead of typing in "mods", consider using the report function.
Love how every "travel blogger" says they will never fly AA/Ethihad again and then says it again and again on subsequent flights.

I see as imitation of G4 but with an attempt at higher customer satisfaction. I also see far more cost control than even G4.

I guess the difference for me is, I would never consider flying with G4, but I would fly with BZ. You seem to get a bit more bang for your money with Breeze, and the airplanes to me are nicer than what G4 flies in the configuration it has. Plus, many routes are 4X weekly on BZ, as opposed to many 2X weekly on G4, some of which are highly seasonal and might fly for two-three months only. Now of course we’ll see if everything sticks for Breeze but right now it looks like it’ll be a year-round schedule...or at least better than a two month only operation. G4 seems to me to be less about selling an air ticket only and more about selling a vacation package.
