*all #'s I'm reporting here are: 1) those in mod (excluding those "entering mm/dd") are not counted as having the old system/config; 2) completed totals includes those that were in mods but show exit dates on FR24/FA; 3) 321s not yet delivered are N/A in the fleet total

The wisdom of not updating the D1 cabin to match the A339 escapes me as, presumably we will want to do it in the future. Its already taking 2 yrs to do this light refresh for the entire rest of the fleet. But Im just a dumb pilot...

The reason is likely a combination of the following:
Cost
Lead-time / supply chain constraints for D1 seat / suite components
Role of the fleet type
MRO capacity to do mods
Aircraft downtime

The A359 A339 and B764 will have the full D1 suite product. That is already 45 aircraft and will be over 60 in 18-24 months.

The A332 and A333 fleet are likely to be used in markets that done have the premium demand for the suite product, they are not likely to see TPAC going forward as they are primarily TATL and SA flying.
Flying more stuff like the B763 particularly as that fleet type sunsets in the years ahead.

These are all good points. But currently we do fly some routes interchangeably between the A333 and A339 for example. They dont seem to isolate the A339 for the D1 suite according to the particular route. But you are correct in that it probably isnt an oversight. The product on the -200 and -300 isnt horrible but definitely a little dated.

Interesting. I wonder if the lower overall seat count will enable an increase in performance.

I am guessing that as more A339s are delivered, currently at 11 with 26 on order, they will probably get more strategic about A339 versus A333 routes.
Also, as international and business demand recovers they can better see where the demand is more for the premium suite product.
Honestly, I think D1 on the A332/A333 is pretty good, my only complaint has been storage area in the seat area
Always enjoy D1 on the A330. Haven't gotten a chance to ride on the A339 yet.

A high-J 33N? Do you mean new delivery 339 in a 44J config?
Interesting if so but seems like a High-J count by DL standards, particularly a murky premium demand environment in TPAC at least in the near term.
Makes me wonder how they would deploy that versus a standard J config or the A359.

DL released their 10-Q yesterday with current fleet numbers.
Nothing earth shattering in the most recent 10Q, and nothing we didn't already know about.
Obviously comments about the acquisition and orders but nothing on the retirement side.

"Accordingly, as of September 30, 2021, less than 5% of our mainline and regional aircraft were temporarily parked compared to 30% as of September 30, 2020."
Nothing really changed on fleet counts of current fleet types and of the fleets that had some retirements during COVID, here are the current numbers:

B717 - 54
A320 - 56
B763 - 40

There's rumors of a business heavy A330 (no indication if it will be a 333 or 339) to serve business heavy long-haul markets...

And there's also rumors of a A330 in a modified "light" business class (a la UA B777A) to serve leisure heavy long-haul markets, Hawaii and some domestic lift.

Will be interesting to see...

Currently 10 out of 100 757s are in storage. DL has not and does not intend to retire any 757s at this time. The active fleet count has stayed consistent at 100 frames.
The primarily reason some remain stored is due to the backlog and scheduling to get airframes in for maintenance checks at MRO vendors and/or engine maintenance.
They are gradually pulling the remaining frames out as availability allows. Supposedly all should be back in service by next summer.

Storage:
75D 5651 N551NW VCV
75D 6700 N6700 VCV
75D 6701 N6701 VCV

I see 11 stored, but a slightly different mix - 8 75Ds and 3 75S
6704 went back into service last week
689 recently exited VCV and is @ QRO for mx
667 is stored @ BHM
6806 stored @ VCV
6809 and 6814 both stored @ SBD

Not one of the Big 4 is planning on running 4Q21 capacity at 100% of 4Q19 levels. WN showed 24 737-700s in temp storage 9/30/21. WN is planning an 8% capacity cut compared to 4Q19; AA announced today a 11-13% cut and forecasted significantly negative margins for 4Q21.

American will continue to match its forward capacity with observed bookings trends. Based on current trends, the Company expects its fourth-quarter capacity to be down approximately 11% to 13% compared to the fourth quarter of 2019. American expects its fourth-quarter total revenue to be down approximately 20% versus the fourth quarter of 2019. The Company also expects its fourth quarter pre-tax margin excluding net special items will be between negative 16% and negative 18% .

So, don't be surprised if a few planes remain out of service for a bit longer.

Was able to get a glimpse of the Stewart facility at BHM from the parking deck today while there taking some pics. Here's what I was able to see on the ground today, with some added pictures:

A319/A320: These compose the vast majority of Delta aircraft remaining at BHM. I was able to see 11 A319/A320s. Four A319s (3101, 3115, 3127, and 3128) and seven A320s (3222, 3223, 3224, 3227, 3228, 3229, 3230) are at BHM. 6 of the 7 A320s are "retired" except for 3229, which arrived recently. I was only able to lay eyes on ten of them, one is likely in a hangar.

3229 seems to have its engines removed. Hard to tell with the angle, but it could have been that just the cowlings were covered. Image

3330 definitely has its right engine removed. Image

There appears to be one A319 (maybe A320 but seemed like a 319) in the back that has been heavily parted out and will likely not return to service. I'm going to guess that this is 3101, the oldest A319 in the fleet, which is still at BHM. Image

The rightmost two in this pic are 3230 and 3115. The four on the left are 3224, 3223, 3127, and presumably 3101 in the back. Image

Hard to make out the regs on these three, but by process of elimination, it is 3 of the following 4: 3128, 3222, 3227, and 3228. 3229 is to the left of these not in the picture. Image

B752: 6716 was sitting in front of hangars 5/6, and it would appear to be leaving soon, whether that is to RTS or mx at QRO is unknown to me. Image

I wasn't able to get a good pic, but 667 has its engines off on the other end of the facility.

B767: Wasn't able to get a pic of these two either, but 176 and 177 are sitting at the back of the facility. Looked like they had their engines still attached and covered but couldn't be positive on that.
