I read Wikipedia that regional fleet plan by 2023 is just E175 and CRJ-900 means the CRJ-700 and E170 will be retired as well.

The E170 operated by Republic are gone or leaving very quickly to operate for American. I know the 6 CRJ-700 operated by Skywest from Delta are also leaving and I'm guessing are headed to American. I have not heard anything about the 18 CRJ-700 operated by Endeavor leaving.

What’s the plan for Endeavor when they lose the 200s? I know DL’s scope for 50+ seaters is low, but will DL use a larger plan for 50 seats (e.g., CRJ-550 style)?

The question has been asked before in reference to the eventual retirement of the 200. The 550 was ruled out as an option.

It’s a problem for 50 seat operators universally. If a market can’t sustain a 69/70/76 seater then there won’t be a market within the next decade. Barring any major innovation in the regional jet market of course.

Apparently, the current plan is for 2 of these 4 to stay retired, but I guess we will see. Many DL flights are running pretty-full these days; of course, that's with few middle seats occupied, but still it's good to see. And of course overseas flights to Europe are still going to be screwy for a while given the difficulties that the EU is continuing to have.)

183 and 185 should be coming back to service per 777Mech's post #480 https://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1456049&start=450#p22700917, and yes, you're right about the MCI typo above.

You're too quick! I read his post while rereading the thread and then edited mine so it wasn't a stray piece of stupid, erroneous information. But you caught my mistake before I realized it was one, and I appreciate the correction. (And that's good news, too!)

BTW, you did a fabulous job on the refurbishment thread a while back, which I read practically-daily. But you have absolutely-outdone yourself with this one. Truly-amazing!

I know how hard it is to keep all this stuff straight, and a typo (or "braino", which I often make) is to be expected. I just thought that the ILN story was interesting, and wanted to highlight where 174 was coming from, because a while back we were told that everything at ILN after the late-September-through-October extractions was retired and not coming back. Then 176DZ came out in November, and that was going to be it. Then 172DN and 174DN came out. And now I hear two more are coming. I feel like this is all an upbeat, positive thing.

Does anyone know why the international/transcontinental 757-200 (75S) and 757-300 fleets never received the Boeing Sky Interior style retrofits like all the other 757-200s did?

I understand the 550 isn’t an option, that’s why I asked if an option in the style of a 550. Instead, my question relates to capacity relative to that permissible under the scope close, not 50 seat markets.

That’s what all employees are asking in the long run. Then again we’ve heard the 200s are going away before, and then we end up with more of them! So who knows...

What I meant is that employees have been asking this question and the response has been there’s no revenue with 50 seat 700’s.

Why did 1808 ferry from CAN>ICN>CAN in the first place? Presumably she took the flight-deck crew for 1821 with her on the trip to CAN, and the inbound flight crew for 1808 will bring 1820 back.

My assumption is COVID-protocol for crews going to China tied to 1820 and 1821 being ready to go on different days, but I could be wrong. I still don't get why 1808 is scheduled back to ICN right after 1820 unless it's for some other reason (presuming that 1808's crew would leave the plane there for mods and fly on 1820 back to ICN).

I wonder if they are shuttling COMAT parts? The plane sits in ICN for about 12 hours.

Probably the last 76L to get an HMV. That 1990 build was supposed to be retired in 2019 and instead went to HMV in Jan. 2020. Glad to see she gets to live on.

I hope that it ends up being the last 767-300ER to retire at DL. One of the first two to arrive, the last to leave. I remember going through 767 ETOPS OJT on ship 171 right after it was delivered.

1013/8301 did as expected.
8141 on track.
175 punted to Sunday.
171 - no idea what's going on there. Still don't see the exit from MCI, and now the revenue flights have fallen off FR24.
Generally feel like next week will be busy - expect the last two 359s to go in for mods and quite a few mx rotations.

Here's an interesting one. 76L 185 ferrying ILN-VCV Monday: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n185dn. Not sure if that's storage or paint? (I don't recall DL having paint done there like others, or at least not with any regularity).

This isn't it. The 359s are moving towards domestic flying due to Easter and Spring Break, and should continue to fly more cargo routes.

I am curious to know if DL is behind the curve now with getting aircraft back into service before peak summer?

Is the constraint going to be on the maintenance side or on pilot/staffing in order to get all the A319/A320/A321, B738/739, B752 out of storage for summer?

It's a little bit of both. On the pilot side, everything is great except for the 737 and A320 categories.

As far as reactivations, what frames that are left in storage need at the very least a C check. The vast majority of storage exits we've been seeing have gone straight into maintenance. Now, the next couple of weeks/months you'll start to see some frames getting parked awaiting space for a check. Hangar lines are booked solid through the second half of next year, so there is no relief in the near future.

Given that those two types make up more than half the mainline fleet by count (if maybe not by seats), that's not a trivial problem. Do you anticipate this summer will see a lot of domestic widebody flying just because 737/320 are understaffed?

Here's an interesting one. 76L 185 ferrying ILN-VCV Monday: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n185dn. Not sure if that's storage or paint? (I don't recall DL having paint done there like others, or at least not with any regularity).

Tracking for today:
75D 688 N688DL to exit VQQ and RTS later today: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n688dl

76L 171 N171DN showing a cancelled exit from MCI (again) but as we've seen before, it may pop back up: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n171dn
3511/3512 swap out delayed. 3511 is still at MSP. 3512 ferried to DTW, but its ferry to MSP was cancelled.
739 3885 N885DN exiting storage at VCV: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n885dn. One 739 remains at VCV (3886).

The most understaffed fleet of all is the A220. The fleet parking is for lack of crews, so add that to the list. Add some spot categories as well (ATL 7ER B).
