https://flightaware.com/live/flight/DAL ... /KMKE/KPHX

Is DL really using a 339 for a MKE-PHX charter for VIPs for the NBA finals? The team already flew yesterday using the usual 752.

Delta shows SEA - MKE for the same 8916 flight number but it doesn't appear that ever happened.

Sorry if this is a bad thread for this, but don't think this is big enough to justify a separate thread.

I was taking a look at random flights today and I noticed a Delta mainline flight from PLN to DTW scheduled to depart at 20:30. What really caught my attention is 1) Mainline has never been scheduled to fly into PLN. 2) DL retired the MD-80s a year ago. Am I misreading this situation or would DL pull an aircraft out of storage due to extreme backlog of flights?

Flightaware glitch.... it’s an OO CR2 operating 4206.

MD88/90 are dead since June 2020. They have no ability to bring them back anyways. No mainline into PLN, its an EAS route for Skywest that anything above and beyond the EAS contract is flown at-risk. They have been periodically upgauging to CR9s during the summer on peak demand flights. Long while back NW did to a charter 757 into PLN for a group going out to a convention on Mackinac Island.

I use planespotters.net - But most times I have to decipher the ship number to find what type it belongs to so I created a text file with those broken down. Here is the contents of that text file. I wonder if there is a website where you can enter the ship # and it will tell you the tail #.

Interesting find. Two of four flights each day M-W. There are some 767s in the schedule the following week, too.

I seem to remember VQQ did some B-717 modification / induction work for DL when the 717 fleet was first being brought on property. But I also don't remember any Airbus work being done there for Delta. Will be interesting to see if more A320 family planes are sent there or if this is a one-off.

Yeah. It's called Planespotters.net.

Just type the ship number in the box and one option will be the DL tail.

Well, Flightstar works on A320s for other airlines, so no reason for it not to do work on them for DL.

And considering that Flightstar (VQQ), TechOps MX (QRO) and Aeroman (SAL), as well as little North State, are all MRO Holdings companies, no reason that DL wouldn't use Flightstar for whatever DL happens to need. At least it's in the US.

My guess is that with the number of wealthy business folks and families having moved to south florida the premium demand NYC-MIA is almost unlimited, similar to how JFK-LAX and JFK-SFO has been for many years. If you compare AA they are currently only sending 777-200 and 777-300ER between JFK-MIA.

Now it would be quite an advantage if DL sent the 767 LGA-MIA or LGA-PBI and get NYC travelers that don't want to go all the way out to JFK.

Only one so far...ship #1708, N178DZ. I read somewhere that the remaining 18 frames will be modded in the autumn/winter/spring months 2021-2022.

Did someone already confirm Delta will BSI mods on the newer 737-800s?

I wonder if they will likely use the same product AA used (Sky Interior) or an aftermarket product, such as the one on the 757-200s, which I know fits 737s as well.

Color me stupid, but I really hadn't focused on the fact that DL was using GAMECO for 767 maintenance. I know GAMECO has massive hangar space for widebodies; I just didn't realize the were doing 767 heavy checks for DL. Maybe that's in part because I don't associate CSN with the 767, and GAMECO is part owned by them and a significant vendor to them.

Does anyone know the delivery schedule for the remaining a330-900? And where these aircraft will most likely be utilized?
Thanks
