Looks like all destinations are on the 788 as expected.
Did a dummy booking for SEPT 3rd..AA had twice to LHR along with the daily BA. I’ll take the positive news.

Probably PHL will only see in the 788, 772 for sometime to come. I doubt we will see the 789 until AA takes another around of deliveries.

Article about the top 10 most booked destinations from Philadelphia from the past month or so. As we all expected Florida in general is the hotspot with Miami, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale ranking among those top 10

Ishrion with the scoop on Connect Airlines with a hopeful fall start of PHL-YTZ/BOS...

Porter dragged their feet for so long but who knows what’s to come with them anyways.

That would be awesome and I do agree I always though Porter would capitalize on the PHL to Toronto route but they definitely dropped the ball.

I mean it can't be any worse than Eastern Airlines right?

Some interesting ones in there (ATL & LAX).
I assume the list a based off of O&D travelers...so a pax on PHL-ATL-XYZ would not fall into the PHL-ATL numbers.
LAX is that high despite California very slowly reopening and at about half the capacity of 2019.

The PHL-Caribbean lineup is pretty impressive considering the minimal emphasis on connections AA places at PHL. PHL-SJU is regularly at 5-6 flts/day

It's possible that PHL and ATL are going film industries since its cheaper to produce films outside Hollywood.

I really think AA underestimated the demand for Croatia despite no cruising in summer 2021 Although I think that angle was a bit overplayed as the majority or Adriatic cruises begin/end in Venice

Yep. I also think it was a big mistake to pull out of KEF.

Glad to see the sleeping giant (AA) has finally awoken! I was starting to have my doubts that this airline was ever going to ramp up operations again at PHL.

These largely aren’t new routes. Just routes that are resuming - presumably at that. PHL underperforms the other large AA hubs in terms of how much has resumed.

Not surprising. AA was first to restore the route. Though I'm not sure if there is a code share agreement with AA.

Meanwhile...AA missed the boat on DBV. Now DL is in on it and who knows if they will even resume ops next summer now with three carriers flying versus being the sole operator pre-covid. Would be quite the wild card if they dropped 3x/week this summer, but I also don’t know what aircraft they could use so late in the planning season.

Any theories as to why???? PHL is a huge city, with a huge catchment area. Seems they could easily support an AA hub and be profitable at that.

Also, do we really think Delta's going to start CVG? Why would they if it isn't a focus city anymore. What Delta's doing in CVG is wacky.

They did plan on using the 787-8 for DBV until they decided to suspended it. So New York went from none to 3 airlines planning to start service with United, Delta and Pragusa.one.

The route likely is aimed at business travelers. CVG still is one of Delta’s top U.S markets despite what title it may have now.

The article said these routes are back this month. It's simply not true. DL and UA have made their cuts to July. None of SFO/BOS/RDU/CVG are back by that time.

Aer Lingus is now part of the JV across the Atlantic. So they coordinate schedules and fares with AA on DUB-PHL

I have no clue what’s going on with CVG and DL. They now fly CVG-EWR 2x a day for some reason.

I believe this service to&from Shannon (SNN). Aer Lingus wants to focus more on getting back DUB first the main HUB of Ireland

I understand that CVG is a top market for Delta but it's a one-off strategy from any other market that I can think of. You would think they would at least shy away from restarting flights to other airline hubs (EWR/PHL).

#PHLAirport has announced a unique partnership with @HeathrowAirport to collaborate on COVID-19 recovery

https://www.phl.org/newsroom/lhr-partnership

PHL and LHR signed a MOU to help boost passenger numbers post covid19, safer measures to put in place. Both airports have been working together for the last 6 months for a safe passenger environment.

I'm not exactly sure what is this all suppose to mean. Could it mean LHR would have some interest into PHL?

Yeah, kinda don't get it. PR boost? Are they gonna load a ton of flights between both cities while others get delayed? Kinda don't know what it's supposed to accomplish...

Yeah I thought that JFK would be the big focus since it's the gateway for them? You might be right and it's a PR boost.

While EWR isn't a hub for DL, EWR is in the NYC market along with DL's LGA and JFK hubs. DL also has a significant FF base in the NYC market due to its LGA/JFK hubs to support keeping EWR-CVG nonstop service on DL.

Most likely it will be the A333. I don't think the 744 are coming back. LH is keeping the 748

Aw man, I guess if I ever want to have a chance at this bucket list wish, I'd have to hop on up to JFK or down to Dulles.

The LH 744 have been permanently retired. Really unfortunate, PHL was hitting a stride with LH & BA 744s and now both are gone for good.

I was lucky enough to fly the BA 744 from PHL to LHR on my way to MAD --Sept. 2019. Just in time! We were delayed in PHL while they were trying to find an extra bag that had been loaded below and they couldn't identify to whom it belonged. While we were waiting, another BA plane pulled up to the gate next to ours -- I believe it was a 777. Good ol' pre-pandemic days!

The article said these routes are back this month. It's simply not true. DL and UA have made their cuts to July. None of SFO/BOS/RDU/CVG are back by that time.

DL PHL-BOS/RDU/CVG restarts have now been pushed back to September 8th. ,

Right now, I think AA is flying LHR (772), DUB (788), and AMS (788). FCO has been running cargo on the 788.

PHL-FCO cargo stopped sometime earlier this year or late last year, I forget. That said, PHL-FRA (cargo only) appears to resume in June

Tentative AA PHL widebody schedule in June
DFW: 788 - 4 weekly
MIA: 788 - 14 weekly / 772 - 7 weekly
LAS: 788 - 7 weekly
AMS: 788 - 7 weekly
DUB: 788 - 7 weekly
FRA: 788 - 3 weekly
LHR: 772 - 7 weekly

Any reason for them visiting Philly? That's cool though!

It's the vomit comet (or similar, for commercial purposes). They are an "experience weightlessness" company. This will be here for a few days by the looks of it. I'm sure for a hefty price tag you could ride it!

Somebody with enough money must've chartered it, costs $6,500 a person and i forgot the minimum. Was out flying to the east/northeast for a while today.

Good to see some positive news. I feel like there’s been minimal news for PHL as of late, and if there is, it doesn’t paint PHL in best light.

The feelings mutual. Outside of F9 two seasonal routes and some AA resumption of some flights nothing major really is going on as of late. Next biggest news probably will be when Connect Airlines announces new service to Toronto

So even more promising news from AA that they intend to fly the majority of a321xlrs from PHL once they arrive

Just realize it's a paid wall that I was able to see at first.
