How many outstanding 777F a/c do DHL have yet to be delivered? Are they likely to be handed out to the current operators of the type?

New from Boeing, four more. The first 10 are operated by either Aerologic, Kalitta, or Southern Air. Unless someone offers a much better deal, there's no reason to think there would be any changes.

Does anyone have delivery dates?

As of 04 January DHL Air UK have replaced EAT on the EGNX - EGAA service. Equipment changed from A306 to B763, flight codes changed from BCS2406/7 to DHK2406/7

New to fleet B737-800 N67TC ferried from Mexico City to Roswell last night - presumably for repaint prior entry to service?
We also have B767-300 N348AN in Shannon currently due to join the European fleet?

DHL have also announced 8 more B777F ordered bringing their total to 22 when all are in service!

Interesting. That leaves ASL with the three older P&W-powered A333 conversions.
I thought DHL was short on long haul lift in Europe, thus having to run the non-ETOPS A333s to the US with a stop in KEF?
But I guess they're short on lift in Asia as well, as everyone seems to be these days.

This is the second A330 delivered to Air Hong Kong this months, the other being newly converted RR-powered A333 B-LDT. Bringing their A330 fleet to five.

I wonder if we might see the one P&W-powered A306 making it's way back to Europe (to either EAT or ASL). She strikes me as a bit of an odd ball in the Air Hong Kong fleet.

Are any of the 777s scheduled into CVG?

DHL Express is suspending some UK-EU services as EU customs authorities hold a “high number of shipments” requiring checks.

I'm guessing that that's the next one for CAM.

But -- and I hate to admit it -- I have lost track of how many of the options CAM has exercised. I had it in my head as a rough figure that CAM could take all but the 340-series (and 350), but that's not exactly-accurate; it was just a rough way to keep it straight. I can go back and count, but given how many ex-AA aircraft CAM has purchased from Jetran outside the option contract, it gets a little tricky. I also have a note in my database that counts the CAM options exactly to the end of the 390-series, but it can't be that easy, can it? If it is, then it's just 396AN, 397AN and 398AN that CAM hasn't exercised options on.

Looking at Planespotters.net, the press release from December 2018 (just two years ago) says the twenty are from a fleet manufactured between 1993 and 2003. The 2003 ones are the 340s, and we know CAM hasn't gotten most of them. There were 21 1993-1999, then the TWA ones (which don't count) and the 340-series from 2003. One of the 21 in the 1993-1999 date range went to Cargojet, so I guess there's the 20. Jetran kept control of the 2003-vintage ones, at least so far.

So, bottom line, I guess this means that CAM has options on 3 more, and it makes sense that 398AN would be one of those options that maybe it is now planning to exercise, hence the purchase by Jetran from AA.

Remember when we thought that buying options on 20 767-300s was a bold, confident move? Wow.

At least two former Atlas 767s have recently switched to Amerijet: N657GT and N658GT. Not sure if there are others.
Amerijet's DHL ops seem to be flourishing, especially considering how recently they got those routes.

Right, so there are 9 767-200s that ATSG "put" to DHL (made DHL buy) when DHL shut down US domestic ops, which was part of their agreement in case US ops failed. DHL pulled them from ABX Air and gave them to Atlas to operate, just because they could. N650GT, 651GT, 652GT, 653GT and 655GT were ex-TWA aircraft when Airborne Express converted them pre-DHL, and so had JT9Ds. 656GT, 657GT, 658GT, and 659GT came from ANA, and had GEs.

It is presumed that Amerijet will end up with at least the 4 GE ones, and maybe all of them. The new CEO at Amerijet (formerly head of Air Canada Cargo) has plans to reduce the island-hopping and instead to compete with the other ACMI's, presumably on price for starters. DHL loves a deal, and is a fickle mistress that doesn't dance with the one that brung her, so she is giving Amerijet opportunities. With AJT's own metal (leased from CAM, actually), Amerijet has been doing some overseas and domestic routes for DHL, and it seems like DHL is sending some or all of the "terrible -2s" to them to have fun with as well. AJT started on a hiring spree, but has paused it a bit because they need to get IOEs and captain upgrades done first and properly. Then presumably they will ramp up hiring again and bring more of these aircraft on board.

So that makes 3 of the 4 GE ones moved to AJT. Just 659GT left at Atlas.

Looks like that one filled in for two weeks at the beginning of January. It has been an A330 Oct31-Jan1, and since Jan19.

Didn't Western Global briefly fill in on that, as well? There was an EAT A330 that was down for a check and EAT had nothing to cover it. So first it was WGN, as I recall, and then Cargojet. I kept hearing about how erratic the WGN service was. It was MIA-Somewhere In Europe, at least. I thought it was BRU but it might have been something else. It was a while back.

The BRU-MIA-BRU was started using DHL UK B-767-300F (Good way to start the service), then it was moved to WGN with MD-11F (way too many maintenance issues), then EAT was brought with A-330F, then in January Cargojet was brought it to cover while the aircraft was down for a "C-Check" and now is back to EAT A-330F.

The one for PTY will be registered HP-3410. Is due to arrive to OPF next week for PPWK and then it will be flown to PTY to be added to the DHL Aero Expreso Ops Spec.

Very interesting thanks.

Do you have an idea what DHL will do with the -200F in Bahrain? Do they have enough remaining life for another operator or will they scrap them ?

Presumably the one going to PTY is N344AN, currently at QPG since 9/22/20. I do recall someone saying that the ones in QPG were being delayed due to Covid, but I guess not.

The next one for DHL likely won't be done in MEX until late-April. The next one out of QPG likely late-June. And then one more from MEX in like July.

The six 767-200s at DHX are all former ABX aircraft, and all leased from CAM. So if they come back to CAM from DHL/DHX, it would be up to CAM to decide what to do with them. Five were leased to DHX in 2017-2018, when they were all in the low-40,000 cycle range. One was leased in late 2015, but should presently have similar cycles to the others. All have GE engines. If you figure 600-700 cycles per year, all would have 4-to-5 years of service left before their LOV. If DHX flies them a little-harder, and they get 1000 cycles a year out of them, then they would be closer to their LOV by mid-2022-2023.

I don't know the terms of the DHX leases, whether replacing them slowly with 767-300s over the next 12-18 months would be early terminations requiring DHL to put them somewhere else, or what. Hard to believe they weren't leased for at least 5 years, but one never knows. I know that at least two CAM 767-200s are expected to go to Raya, but I assumed that those would be N745AX and N747AX, which are recent West Atlantic lease returns. So the short answer, I guess, is that if they're at moderate use, they likely have more than enough cycles left before their LOV to faithfully-serve another lessee for 4-5 years, if somebody wants to fly them. If DHX is flying them harder, and getting 1000-1100 cycles per year out of them, they'll only have 1-2 years left before their LOV. A little like where N752AX was when CAM appears to have retired her rather than C-check her.

Yikes! Glad to read nobody was injured but I REALLY want to see some photos of the aftermath. Based on the writeup it sounds like the cargo door might be near that coal plant and no longer attached to the aircraft.
