Carpatair's YR-FKA Fokker 100 has been deregistered in the last days of December 2020. Currently is unknown if the aircraft was sold to another airline or will be used for spare parts for other two F100 aircraft owned by the airline.

YR-FKA was assembled in 1991 and operated its last flight on 14AUG20, between Arad (ARW) and Chișinău (KIV) and back - training flight.

Animawings will start low cost flights between OTP and HEL from June 11th onwards. Pretty interesting that the airline will move away from the more leisure/charter orientated market...

Anymore Infos regarding HiSky? Saw their A320 active today on FR24:

It would be nice to have LCC to the North and to main airports like HEL and not Turku or Tampere but who knows Animawings in Finland?

Next attempt to start operations eventually, HiSky added flights for sale from CLJ to DUB&LIS, as well as KIV to DUB. Opening reservations from CLJ, I wonder what happened to their deal to start a Romanian base in IAS...

They have Iasi to Dublin, Frankfurt and Tel Aviv listed on their website. Flights haven’t been put on sale yet.

Nope! Flights were on sale several times last year in the past and always postponed, leaving unhappy passengers behind. Offical reason, COVID 19, yeah right! :duck:
As the airline received their AOC only in 4Q20 and applied inbetween for a Romanian licence, other than their Moldavian startup plans, I think it is pretty obvious, why none of their sold flights ever took off!

You`ve got it !!! Which traffic should be out there between Europe and Romania other than except for seasonal workers and horizontal trades ?

I've wondered when they'll be demand for a US airline to fly direct between the US and OTP. I think DL or someone used to fly there but I've heard that it was highly seasonal and not doing very well? Does anyone have any more info about the past DL flights and how they did?
Boeing is re-engining the 707 tonight, with Shinkai as the CEO and FLAIRPORT as the CFO. He has the 757 tooling in giant snowglobe that tracks flights.

I think loads were there but yields might have been a bigger problem for them. I think OTP-US flights could have been a reality if Romania was in the range of the A321XLR.

Anima, not Animal! I think it means soul. Aegean owns 25% of the carrier.

EDIT: it looks like it means "to animate".

The fact that AC Rouge was able to do it in the past few years (increasing capacity season over season) is quite telling. Naturally, you need a leisure configured aircraft, however at 282 seats in the Rouge configuration, that's significant capacity and one could argue whether another airline might jump on this opportunity going forward.

I see RO has loaded their OTP-BEG flights with a revised schedule. Now they leave Bucharest at around 13.40. Any reason for that? Are they doing it because of connections or? In the past they used to have morning and afternoon flights.

it is a charter not seasonal... TAROM will not sell tickets on those flights.

New routes from WZZ:
- CLJ - JKM / 2x weekly from 11JUN21;
- CLJ - ZTH / 2x weekly from 12JUN21;
- IAS - JTR / 2x weekly from 13JUN21.

Animawings will op. charters for Christian Tour from Bucharest to Tenerife and Albania (OTP - TFS are bookable on animawings.com without hotel package).

Romaero is now performing maintenance for A320 family. IDK if new or not, but I didnt see an Airbus in their hangars in the least 5-6 years.

First A320 which entered their hangar @ BBU is LZ-MDK of Fly2Sky (BG)

Does Wizz Air fly from Iasi to Luton? Wonder if these BLA flights will affect them especially since Luton isn't really that convenient unless you live in the northern areas of London.

Sorry, I am very confused - HiSky initiated a separate Romanian AOC with an A320 YR-SKY and a "base" in Iasi for flights to London, Frankfurt and Dublin... But so far, the airline announced for the summer just only ONE single route from Iasi to DUB. London is now taken up by 0B... So, what will be the future for HYS?!

I dont think they ever said before which route will op from IAS but the ones you mentioned were only visible on their (unfinished) website.

As of now, HYS will op. flights from IAS only to DUB, however their network is a big bigger @ CLJ (two regular routes only but dozens of chaters from CLJ, OMR, TGM and other airports).

So, does this means HiSky ROMANIA will have 2 bases - their "officially" announced base in IAS (YR-SKY) and a second one in CLJ (YR-BEE)?

Tarom places 14 of its planes for sale in a bid to restructure its fleet. These include 4 A318, 8 B737 among which are 4 B733 and two ATR 52-500.

Tarom is aiming at downsizing to 21 aircraft by 2023, 5 Boeing Max 8, 4 Boeing 738 NG, 3 Boeing 737 NG, 9 ATR 72-600. So only 2 type aircraft in their fleet, Boeing jets + ATR turboprops. At least this is the plan folks, unless they are closing the shop for good, due to past loses and pandemic traffic restrictions ahead.

Very, very strange... According to FR24, it seems HiSky operated these flights - but suddenly they are no longer available online... Already discontinued just after 1 week of operations?! :scratchchin: Any more infos available?!
