What potential routes could Allegiant operate from MIA? Fun fact: they did operate regular charter flights into Miami long ago in the 2000’s

Hard to say. Seems they fly to completely different types of places from FLL and PBI.

From FLL they hit second and third-tier cities that don't have NK, WN or B6 service or just one of the three. It feels from FLL they're doing a lot of gap-filling, finding routes the airlines with hubs or focus cities at the airport avoid. It is interesting that they chased NK off FLL-AVL which if you know south Florida must be a bit of goldmine of a route.

From PBI they're going into routes to larger cities that other carriers don't fly though Sun Country responded quickly to G4 adding PBI-MSP. Noticed they are doing some of this from JAX also.

Turkish Airlines will maintain it's previous summer-only second flight to Miami year-round. It operates as a westbound redeye, which I believe is the only such service between Europe and the U.S.

Delta 11 is MIA’s newest renovated jetbridge, I worked it the other night on a GND outbound. Not having to spool up the A/C hose is pretty nice!

Also, the lead in to Delta 27 has been repaved with fresh asphalt.

This route is all about connections but also for the Turkish who reside in South Florida.

Agreed. It was just removed from all other destinations where it was previously scheduled through the end of the year. I don’t see it coming back until at least summer 2022, if ever.

This isn't new, has always operated but obviously not last year. Montreal and Toronto also return but Moncton and Ottawa do not.

Avianca/TACA is also coming back to Miami-Guatemala City in December. Fourth airline on the route joining AA, F9 and NK.

Unfortunately, KLM will not fly to MIA this winter due to high level of COVID-19 cases.

MCO and LAS will not be served either.

Unfortunate but has not directly related to COVID case levels. Netherlands now requires Americans to quarantine regardless of vaccination status and that is why. Although with the Dutch still banned from coming to the U.S. for tourism, I’m sure that also factors in.

From few days ago. LOT will return to Miami 3x weekly 1x3x5xx, starting December 10 of this year. The relaxation of the rules to enter the US is bringing back interest in flying. From the article “LOT will have almost the same amount of flights to USA this winter as in the winter of 2019”.

This was however largely the plan before the loosening of restrictions. LOT flew to Miami this summer and had planned to pause for the fall. The difference now is they are adding one additional weekly flight, which is great.

Wonder if Aer Lingus is next to reverse course.
