How many CEOs are left on the books? Once completed will they cease offering the CEO in favour of the NEO?

As of the end of November there are 5 A319ceo, 18 A320ceo, and 29 A321ceos still on the books. Not all of those will be fulfilled though (eg Mexicana still has 4 A320ceos on the book despite not flying for about a decade) and some of those have already been built but not delivered by end of November.

And yes, the CEO line is done after all outstanding (valid) orders are completed. Airbus stopped offering the CEO a while ago and it is no longer available to purchase.

From the Dec. 2020 O&D file: (Realistic)
A319 : 4 (2)
2 - Hamburg International Airlines [Ceased operation]
2 - UFO (Tibet Airlines)
A320 : 18 (1)
1 - CASC
6 - Iran Air [Blocked by US sanctions & is operating 6]
4 - Mexicana [Ceased operation]
7 - Ural Airlines [Is already operating NEO's]
A321 : 29 (<22)
22 - Delta Airlines
7 - Iran Air [Blocked by US sanctions]

I'm expecting Delta wants to change it's order, because they don't need the A321CEO's now. But Airbus might be stuborn because of current low production and specific CEO parts already produced. We shall see what happens.
I expect 2021 to be the last year A32xCEO's are produced by Airbus.

Delta ordered A321CEO's willingly because they were cheaper, probably a good deal to clear out the specific parts and engines Airbus had already 'on the shelf'. About 10 of these 22 are already fully built so I expect them to take them all. The identified A321s are msn 9588, 10003, 10015, 10018, 10085, 10100, 10122, 10132, 10133 and 10185.
Other comments:
Probably the Thai Government A320 msn 9313 delivered in november was the last built A320CEO. There are a few stored A320CEOs still to be delivered, mainly to Chengdu Airlines.
Of course the A318 stopped long ago.
Of the 2 A319CEOs still on order, that are most likely msn 10094 and 10110 for Tibet Airlines, both have already flown but still have to be delivered.
So that means only 2x Tibet and 22x Delta will still be delivered of which more than half are already built and only a few Delta's have still to roll out.
nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

I don't want to go political... that may happen, but not quickly enough to build CEOs. Maybe some movement after the 2022 elections if the Democrats retain the House and Senate.

Even if Biden lifts the ban I doubt Iran Air will still want ceos. That is what they wanted ~4-5 years ago. 4+ years later when production of the ceo has almost ended and neo is in full swing (with potential openings due to covid) they will probably have a change of heart about getting brand new ceos. Imho when Iran Air can get western jets again you will see them rejig their Airbus and Boeing (which were never firmed) orders to better match their post pandemic needs and what is actually available from the OEMs.

I am surprised Airbus wanted such a long overlapping transition period between CEO and neo production.

The Ceo and Neo are almost identical (excluding the engines and related stuff). There is not a big switch in production. It also helps (now we exclude Covid) to keep production volume high while manufacturers for new parts (NEO parts) ramp up production. So the idea behind is actually smart to keep slowly shifting in NEO and slowly shift out CEO production. It works due to the very high commonality of the line.

Delta will take all their remaining A321ceo during 2021. I do believe the previous plan for to take the last in early 2022?

Unless I'm doing the search wrong, it doesn't show a list of MSN's still to be delivered (regardless of customer).

For example, who is the customer for MSN 10361?

I presume the Delta 321ceos are being produced with the traditional 321 exit door arrangement - 4 on each side, none over-wing.

That means Airbus cannot standardise 321 fuse production to the new neo version until all the DL fuses are produced.

There is still A321neos produced with the 4 door configuration. Although very few, but the latest was one the ANA delivered this February

Not sure who else still takes delivery of this configuration?

I can’t find it now, but I am certain there was a post here sometime in the last year indicating a certain line number after which the old configuration would no longer be available.
