Currently? Or pre-covid? I would say it's currently LAX (DL scheduled to return in March) and NYC.
Prior to Covid, BOS was the largest unserved market from SAT.

I'm really eager to find out who it is and where. I can't see SAT supporting intl flights outside of MX. Heck, AC couldn't even make SAT-YYZ work. My guess is a Mexican carrier to a beach market. CUN, PVR, or SJD? Feel free to drop more hints, rajincajun!

Awesome, thanks for the info.

Guess I'll have to go with VivaAerobus or Volaris to Cancun.

Just to clarify, Southwest's SAT-CUN flight isn't new, right? That's available on their website.

Probably a Mexican carrier but perhaps it’s WS YYC/YVR to SAT or OWG / another Canadian LLC startup. Is there any demand to Europe from SAT? Would British Airways be plausible?

Condor to FRA after leaving AUS? Although, TATL demand is still uncertain.

Volaris flies from SAT to MEX and GDL. I could see them adding other destinations like MTY or MLM. Maybe CUN? Although, with Mexico's new COVID testing requirements, a route announcement to Mexico would be very poorly timed. I don't think WS is in the right place to announce any new U.S. destinations at this point, and any new route announcements to Europe in the current climate would be shocking IMO.

SAT-Canada is/would be a challenge because of geography. SAT-YYZ ties up an aircraft for the better part of a day and overflies gobs of other hubs.

Didn't Aeromar fly to SAT in the past? I seem to recall them flying SAT-SLP for a while, in the early 2000s perhaps?

Looks like they did:

Aeromar plans to offer direct service from San Antonio to Saltillo, continuing to San Luis Potosí, plus return flights, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. A tentative start date is March 28.

There's also this from last month: https://www.anna.aero/2020/12/03/routes ... w-service/

“We continue to work with airlines on connectivity from Indy and have maintained some West Coast service, but not all. There’s an opportunity for new service and re-establishing routes, once passenger demand increases, to nonstop destinations. These include Los Angeles, San Diego, San Antonio, Toronto, and Mexico City, and nonstop access to Europe.”

G4 had stated in its application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity and for Exemption Authority (US-Mexico) that it was planning on operating nonstop flights to Mexico out of BWI, DFW, HOU, LAX, EWR, and SAT.

If G4 is announcing Mexico routes, I probably would expect G4 to announce Mexico routes out of BWI, CVG, HOU, LAX, and EWR in addition to IND and SAT.

If G4 is planning on adding service out of DFW, I probably would also expect some domestic adds out of DFW on G4 such as DFW-CVG/VPS/JAX/TYS/LAS/SFB/AZA/PGD in addition to international flights to Mexico.
