Seems this might be related to Air Belgium which coincidentally announced it will get 4 A330F recently as well

Possibly ex QR Cargo, who have withdrawn their A330F fleet recently.
Wonder if they'll give the airline a name, as CMA CGM Cargo doesn't exactly roll of the tongue.

CAA CGA perhaps?

Compagnie Maritime d'Affrètement (CMA) and Compagnie Générale Maritime (CGM) don't lend themselves to aviation. One doesn't want their new A332Fs to become maritime.

I've just seen OO-CMA A330F overhead my house at FL400.
It flew DOH-BRU this morning, and is now over Southern England heading West out of BRU.

The partnership is gong full ahead with 4 A332F’s and if all goes well the operation will be expanded with A330P2F’s in the future.

Pretty sure MAERSK had an airline at one point too. Congrats to Air Belgium and CMA CGM getting this going.

They had Maersk Air, a passenger airline, and still own Star Air who fly 767s out of Köln for UPS.

Wamos Air in Spain is a subsidiary of Pullmantur Cruises.

Farnair in Switzerland was owned at a point by the shipping line Suisse Atlantique, which is where the 5-star logo on the tail of the aircraft came from.

I have to wonder if CMA CGM might make a play to buy KF directly (CMB, a Belgian shipping company, owns the ASL Suite of companies) and integrate them into the company as an air arm. This would give KF a guaranteed income stream (they recently parked their blank A343 in Jordan). Simultaneously, CMA CGM abandoned plans to buy a 30 percent stake in the owners of BF/TX in deciding to partner with KF. https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/cma- ... r-belgium/

In terms of flights, if they're planning to fly to the USA, LGG-JFK is extremely saturated...even though it's only a cargo route, you have LY (leased capacity), ET, X7/5C, and 3V flying LGG-JFK. (QR flies to other destinations in the USA from LGG as well.) LGG is less than 6 hours away by car from Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and London (London accessible via Eurotunnel).

What about the old Maersk Air?
Then renamed to Star Air with same shipping company logo.
I believe they're still around.

The original shipping company that forms part of CMA CGM, The Compagnie Générale Transatlantique, was apparently more commonly known as Transat.

So while Air Transat is already existing (though probably not for long since Air Canada is taking it over), they could name the enterprise as Transat Cargo or Transat Air Cargo (TAC).

CGT disappeared over 45 years ago; no need to "revive" a name that old.

Add to the list: Chargeurs owned UTA.

No need to rename CMA CGM if it's cargo only- the freight rates are important, not the name for moving cargo. Possibly CMA CGM already subcontracts the air cargo part of their business to another company- now that business is moving to an inhouse subsidiary.

So technically CMA CGM doesn't have any AOC.
Sounds CMA CGM and Air Belgium are under CMI deal a la Amazon with ATI?

Another one that comes to mind is Norway's Color Air.

And then there are plenty of regional airlines serving island routes that are subsidiaries of shipping companies - Isles of Scilly Airbus or in Germany OFD and the former HADAG Air come to mind.

Apparently the aircraft was not ready to operate on March 8th as planned, so UA picked up the cargo on ORD-BRU effective immediately and will provide additional lift.

Gets straight to the point.
It's a small cargo carrier, the plane will most of the time be parked in a remote and/or cargo area, away from the general public. In my opinion, it's better for the operator to spend money in other areas than livery.

I believe it would have been nice to incorporate blue, and do something similar to their shipping livery.
