While I am not a fan of the Crown Plazza in Santry I would hardly call it decrepit
I don't get the point on US domestic travel? What has it to do with Irelands connectivity? Irish domestic aviation has been operational forsome time!!!!
Where to begin when Ireland is compared to any other country, especially the US or UK or even Israel? Our aviation industries are not similar especially when it comes to domestic to international connectivity!
Tracks has outlined the situation very well. Any Irish American Immigration Attorney will be able to handle the situation for your or your clients. I know many people who have travelled to the United States for specific business purposes in the past ~12 months who have travelled on NIE waivers. The US Embassy in Dublin can also assist you in this regard. As Tracks has mentioned, the situation has been further tightened (definition of NIE Critical Infrastructure Workers) in March 2021 - however several large US Airports have CBP teams who are actively dealing with NIE waiver petitions. There is reasonable optimism that the general US Travel Ban will begin to be lifted in some form from the middle of May 2021 onwards.

It slowed down, at one point significantly but remained going with so many states adopting different measures and different levels of understanding/ignorance/belief leading the market. I really don’t understand how it can be compared to Ireland’s situation now.
Also it’s a bit of a myth that the US is storming ahead in its vaccine programme. Yea the lucky majority with private health care are getting it like there’s no tomorrow but the significant minority are not, and won’t for many years to come.
What are you basing this on? Slowed down? I was on scores of domestic flights in 2020 in the USA where there were less than 10 passengers. The data shows very well that Domestic Demand dropped fairly sharply again after Christmas and was still well off prior year highs until vaccination rollout gained momentum. The comparison to Ireland's situation is very simple! Efficient mass vaccination AND readily available cost effective testing allows economies to open safely and minimizes the number of businesses that will collapse, stimulates demand, reduces the need for extensive air travel restrictions etc.
Your comments about the US storming ahead being a myth are complete nonsense and I'm not sure what they are based upon. You can walk in off the street in most States now and get a same day vaccination appointment. Satellite clinics have been mobilized in many areas including to remote rural counties to reach the most vulnerable and less well off in the population - including illegal migrants etc. The United States is leading the world on vaccinations given the scale of its population - averaging over 3 million shots per day currently. All of this has allowed significant re-opening to take place in recent weeks and has strongly stimulated domestic air travel demand.

Tell me, for someone who doesn't even live in Ireland, and one who is only seemingly interested in making money at any cost, irrespective of anything, you consistently criticise Ireland at every possible opportunity. I would go as far as saying that Ireland is well behind the United States in being the laughing stock of the world when it comes to the response to Covid-19 (from it doesn't exist to the refusal to wear masks....do you want me continue? lol)
So, with your "Enough is enough", what is your plan for all this?. You constantly set yourself up as the definitive voice in everything, but yet I've never seen any viable answers, or suggestions'......just hiding behind criticism.
Hiding behind what exactly? Voicing an opinion is now regarded as hiding behind criticism? You don't like the fact that Ireland is failing in vaccine rollout or has gravely mishandled the Mandatory Hotel Quarantine situation - but that is the reality. This is not about making money at any cost. Health is also paramount - but "locking it down forever" is simply NOT the answer. Are you willing to personally pay a wealth tax or significantly increased income tax to foot the bill for the economic fallout in Ireland due to government incompetence?
The Irish government has refused to adopt mass Rapid Antigen Testing, it has refused to leverage any relationships with many of the Pharma companies in Ireland to try and increase its access to a vaccine supply base. There are no forward thinking solutions whatsoever. I'm entitled to comment here just as much as you are. You might not like the reality of the current situation but the economic devastation that is being inflicted on Ireland is the endpoint from this gross incompetence on the part of the Irish government.
https://www.quarantinehotelsireland.ie/Unfortunately there is currently no availability for bookings for travellers arriving into Ireland from all designated states between Wednesday 14th and Sunday 18th of April. The next available booking date is from Monday 19th April onwards. Tens of thousands of hotel rooms lying idle and this is the best that can be developed after over one year of dealing with this crisis. Pathetic!
