New Air Service Announcement at RST (Rochester, MN)

Fri Apr 23, 2021 11:52 pm

I saw on RST's Facebook page there will be a new air service announcement on April 27 at 9 AM CDT. Any guesses on what it could be?
DC10-40,MD88,A319,A320,A332,717,722,733,737,738,752,ATR-72,736,788,74M
SY,DL,FI,FL,BA,EI,NW,MG,DY,EZY,F9,WN,SN,ET,SK,KL,B6
Too many airports to fit in signature.

AA RST-DFW, AA RST-PHX, DL RST-DTW, or DL RST-SLC

Since they got a small community air service development program grant last year (pre-COVID) for flights to the west coast, I’m gonna have to say RST-SEA on AS, RST-SFO on UA, or RST-LAX on AA

Guessing: AA to PHX or DL to SLC.

G4 to Florida would make too much sense.

DL to DTW and AA to DFW are also possible.

I believe the 2019 SCASD grant was already used to start the RST-DEN service.

I agree - G4 makes the most sense. They usually do Tuesday announcements. Outside chance of F9 or SY. DL seems to be doing Friday announcements as of late. When has AA been doing them?

G4 really doesn’t serve MN which has always fascinated me. Should work well to IWA or LAS or any of the FL cities. I know SY is top dog there but still... secondary cities wise

G4 has tried RST before and pulled out. (Same with DLH), outside of FAR/STC covering the western part of the state, they have struggled to gain traction within MN.

It'll be interesting to see who it is.

AA’s new route announcements in 2021:

JFK-DEL/JetBlue expansion Part 2 - Wednesday
MCO expansion, RDU-BNA/VPS - Wednesday
AUS expansion - Thursday
JFK-SCL/Colombia/JetBlue expansion Part 1 - Thursday
MIA-TLV/PBM - Monday

I’m gonna guess AA RST to DFW. Or Allegiant coming back.

Like with DLH, a bit surprised to see RSW over MCO. But, Minnesotans do really love SW Florida...
