Turkish 77 Strange Diversion to MCO

Fri May 07, 2021 3:40 am

I know diversions happen all the time but this one is strange , (Turkish 77 a 787) based on routing this flight came down the western part of Florida did a circle over the gulf and went right into Orlando enroute to Miami. I dont think ts a Miami weather diversion?? Anyone?? ... /LTFM/KMCO

It was definitely a MIA weather diversion as MIA got nailed right when this guy got to Florida. The reason for the odd routing is because they had to go over land due to weather off the east coast, the gulf thing is because there were so many flights diverting in MIA center airspace, ATC literally had no airspace left. FLL, PBI, and MIA all got nailed and TPA and RSW had a ton of diversions head their way.
