There must be a sizeable diaspora of Sudanese and South Sudanese in Turkey. Wonder if they will serve Adana kebabs in flight.

Can't find any details about this airline and its fleet - do you have maybe any registrations to share?!

Interestingly they aren't the first Sudanese carrier to do so. Badr Airlines operate, 3 weekly flights to IST with leased B737-800 alone side Turkish Airlines. it will be interesting route to watch for sure.

I guess they could get cheap A330s right now for some western European markets.

As far as I can remember they have B737-300 ( ST-MRA ), CRJ-200 ( ST-ALL ) and a leased A320 ( LZ-MDO), currently operating a wide range of domestic flights to UYL, KSL, PZU. You can find some information on their Facebook page but good luck as it's mostly in Arabic. https://www.facebook.com/Alfa-Airlines-104647608349026/

It's interesting, becouse U.S sanctions were lifted last year and Sudan is now becoming more stable and open, I can see the return of some western airlines to Sudan like KLM/LH as they expressed interested according to Khartoum Airport Managing Director speaking to a local newspaper. Also Sudanese airlines can now get a lease and spare parts without any fines or sanctions from the U.S.

Another carrier and nation excluded from the EU and UK flies to Istanbul as nearest entry/exit point and will no doubt be carrying numbers of failed EU asylum claimants and some NGO traffic. The UK in particular are rather fond of sending people back via Istanbul under escort !

I don't want to criticize you and I'm always happy to hear about small airlines , but your memories are a little bit wrong.
ST-MRA is a ex Marsland Aviation ( defunct Sudanese airline ) and is a B737-500 and not a -300

https://www.planespotters.net/airframe/boeing-737-500-st-mra-marsland-aviation/3vjd43?refresh=1

About ST-ALL I can`t find any usefull information but according to their homepage it is a CRJ-100 ( link I provided up thread in English ) and I hope it didn`t stall !

The A320 with reg LZ-MDO did not fly in Sudan at all in the last days or weeks. It belongs to Fly2Sky and do rotations between Dubai , Lybia , Pakistan , Cyprus and Afghanistan ( today ) with VAWxxx numbers.

Also , on their homepage the pic shows an A320 with sharklets wich were not available 28 years ago !
