Which is precisely why DL was explicit that planned retirements are flexible. It's far more sensible (and a much more conservative approach) to keep an A320, B757 or B763 around for several more years than it is to make a firm purchase commitment to a bunch of planes you have no need for (cancellations and deferrals are a much more expensive option).

My best guess based on the registration sequence is yes they are.
The other likely candidates are:
PK-LQS, PK-LQU, PK-LSG, PK-LHW, 9M-LNF, 9M-LNG, PK-LOF, PK-LSQ, PK-LSL, PK-LSM

The AerCap jet that’s at question is the former Hainan/South African.

I can't comment much for ID, but for OD Malindo Air, they are ceasing all B737NG operation and will restart their jet operation with ten B737MAX next year. They allocated a total of 20 B737MAX from main company. https://www.nst.com.my/business/2021/09 ... 1500-staff
Their B738 are now heading back to Jakarta or being sent to Ostrava, Czech Republic, returning to lessor. B739 have all gone to Delta (9M-LNGMSN 38729/ 4380 is now being prepared for DL). Their ATR72 fleet has been reduced to 13.
Sorry for off-tracking.

Other source tell me these B738 of OD will only stored in Ostrava until Lion paid lessors already before returned back to service. According to Wiki, OD was due to re-delivery 25 B738 currently flown by ID.

It's going to be Lion Air's 739 fleet and LATAM's 350s.
Lion Air just restructured some of their lease deals, so it's safe to say their lessors gave DL a smoking deal on their 739s.
LATAM is really the only operator that has withdraw their 350 fleets, so maybe DL can recoup some of that money from the deal to NOT take them. Pretty shortsighted of them.

Today the company announced the incremental acquisition of two used A350 aircraft with deliveries planned for the December quarter 2021. Year to date and including today’s announcement, the company has finalized several fleet transactions, including the exercise of 55 A321neo options scheduled to deliver between 2022 and 2027 and agreements to acquire 38 gently used aircraft in the secondary market.

Time to hunt down where these A350 came from. Most probably those six owned by LATAM via some financial/ shell institution.

Judging by the many deadlines that Lion Air Group missed for their lease payment, I won't hold my breath for them in paying their lessors and get those airframes at Ostrava back. Lion Air is using this opportunity to massively downsize their fleet to accomodate their huge B737MAX order. Their A320ceo fleet are now being returned too. Malindo/ Batik Air Malaysia will not see any B73NG service anymore, they will restart their jet operation next year with 10 B737MAX.

One could only hope, but I bet Delta puts their anemic vents on the 739s. Outside of the cramped nature of 737 seats themselves, the gaspers are my biggest gripe about Delta's 739s. They have no airflow. Flights run hot. And during COVID, one could even argue it is a safety issue as you don't get a nice positive pressure bubble around your head.

Technically DL would be the third operator. They were ntu by LATAM and never operated by them. They were only in service with SAA for about 3 months.

Adult owned, never abused, always hangared and never flown in the rain.

The temporary registration leads me to believe it is PK-LQU/HS-LVJ instead. The aircraft you mentioned is MSN 38307 and does not fit into the registration sequence they are using at Delta, since 38304 and 38313 are registered sequentially as 3936 and 3937.
