I am looking at MCI and can someone explain to me what's going on there. Is the JFK flight operate by a plane from elsewhere and is the BOS plane going to do another rotation before going back?

Looks like it will rotate - JFK-MCI-BOS and vice versa

While B6 hasn't yet added service to CVG, B6 adding CVG-JFK nonstop service might be a possibility if B6 has enough slots at JFK.

CVG can probably support nonstop service to JFK on B6 with
(a) F9 no longer serving LGA nonstop from CVG,
(b) CVG having fewer nonstop flights to NYC than was the case prior to the COVID-19 pandemic,
(c) B6 being able to offer connections to some other destinations in the Northeast such as BOS, BTV, MVY, ACK, PWM, and SYR from CVG through JFK if it adds CVG-JFK nonstop service, and
(d) the connecting opportunities that would be available at JFK onto transatlantic flights on AA and other B6 partners.

More specifically:

JFK/BOS-SAT

JFK-PVR

BOS-MCI

JFK/BOS-MKE

All 1x daily.

Problem is B6 will tell you…they are a point to point carrier, and it builds schedules for focus cities. They don’t build schedule around connections. For example BTV has 1 departure,BTV-Jfk-BTV and returns at 11:30pm. If you fly to jfk you miss early morning flights. Then if you return say west coast…you sit for hours of misconnect due to schedule.

AA normally flies CVG-JFK. It is not being flown right now but it is still in future schedules.

IIRC, they used to have at least 2-3 flights per day on this route, hopefully that will return soon.

Glad to see adds in the Midwest, hoping to see Grand Rapids at some point in the future. They still lack a nonstop to JFK and Allegiant only flys BOS twice a week

What is interesting, and a game changer for the JFK hub…these one off cities have a better schedule for those visiting or connecting to NY.

Boston schedules are better for Boston originators.

Agreed on both points. Again, surprising to me they didn't announce more of these connection focused JFK routes. I was really expecting to see stuff like ALB/PVD/BDL this time.

The MKE flights are with the A220. As per the schedule, the flight from JFK arrives in MKE at 4:45 PM, but then MKE-JFK departs at 10:35 AM. Doesn't that seem like a long time for the plane to sit on the ground?

From what I understand, all the 220 routings are going to be BOS-XXX-JFK-XXX-BOS. While the outbounds from BOS seem scheduled well, I am nervous to book the return given B6’s OTP.

Yes I also initially misread the BOS-MKE schedule but it makes sense now.
