Teacher of the year claims discrimination by AA staff at Huntsville (HSV)

Thu Jul 29, 2021 5:16 am

Very interesting read. Now, we all know that on weather delays, no hotels, meals, or taxis are provided. But, if this article is true, and her white colleague was offered vouchers, while the lady making the complaint, a Samoan, and another colleague, an Asian gentleman were denied… then AA/Envoy or Piedmont or whoever groundhandles HSV has some serious explaining to do.

Story sounds exaggerated (not necessarily false), AA doesn't cover Ubers or assist in finding hotels beyond providing one if they are at fault.

When I did TDY for UA/Air Wis at White Plains/HPN, it was common practice to send irrop passengers to LGA or JFK in a Uber or even a car service. And I know both the Aa/Envoy and US/Piedmont agents did the same. So it can be done. But yes, it all seems exaggerated. And we don’t know what transpired between the passengers and the agents either…

In this day and age the story is mostly useless unless video of the interactions with agents was taken.

It sounds more like the agents at the gate were doing one thing and the agents at the ticket counter were doing another.
Doesn't sound like discrimination but more like a failure of the AA/HSV staff to be on the same customer service page.
