Didn't see this posted, but I think this is a great piece, and brave on the part of, Nicole Smith-Ludvik. As someone in marketing for 25 years, I love innovative efforts like this. Kudos.

That is very cool and like you, I wouldn't be caught dead up there! Well, actually, I'd be dead of a heart attack as I stepped out on the platform.

Job well done on that ad. I'll hand it to the woman, she has some balls. Congrats to her for being willing to do that.

Smith-Ludvik isn't a flight attendant at EK or anywhere else, but a professional skydiver and skydiving instructor. That makes it no less impressive, but a bit easier to grasp.

I have the utmost respect for the people that can work outdoors at these heights. I'll have to admit, my legs felt a bit uneasy just watching the videos. Nicole Smith-Ludvik did an amazing job. I agree with FriscoHeavy, as I would have passed out and died being up there. Great ad on their part.

So easy to have done this with CGI, but . . . you lose out on all the free media that will come with pulling off such a real-life thing. Dollars-wise, probably get more exposure for the ad by spending the extra to do it real than you would via CGI. Good show!

I do not have a problem with flying but having an advert reminding me that while I am in a plane there is nothing holding me up but air and I am a long way up is having the opposite effect than wanting to rush out an buy an airplane ticket.

Fun ad, but fails to express a unique selling proposition as to why someone should fly on Emirates. (I’m watching the actress, not the words on the cards).
If they had gone further and perhaps promoted seeing the modern wonders of the world on Emirates and use this as well as other dramatic shots from their destinations it would promote the airline and their world wide reach.

Wow, very difficult indeed, even it looks so simple.
-Hair, Makeup, Wardrobe has to do last looks before the shoot... how ?
-Drone operator has to be pretty close also, not on the ground.
-I even think, the words on those cards might be superimposed during post production. Knowing clients and agencies for years, they never agree on the actual slogans before the shoot date and they always second guess themselves, even after the shoot.

Exactly. There were only two cards she is going through. watch the cards in the top right so you can see that one has a little damage there and how often it comes to the front.

Just seeing the picture has me shaking with vertigo. I can't even watch the ad, it's that bad! What I don't understand is that I can stay clamped to the window of an airplane and not feel the vertigo.

Honestly it was probably cheaper to do it this way. This ad cost NOTHING. Get dressed with a harness underneath. Go up, shoot a couple takes with a drone. A bit of post for colour and to delete any signs of fall arrester. Print to video.

My thoughts exactly. Remove the titles and this could just be any generic ad for a Dubai-based company.
Then again, any publicity is good publicity. As demonstrated here on A.net, woman + skyscraper = clicks. Great success!

I was thinking I would do it but only with a chute and permission to jump at the end.
