There were 3 IL76, 1 IL62. 508 Russian citizens evacuated + citizens of Belarus, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan on board plus a group of Ukrainians. Also diplomatic staff from some central Asian "-stan" countries asked Russia to evacuate their diplomatic staff.

One IL76 flew to Dushanbe and the others to the Russian Aerospace Forces base Kant in Kyrgyzstan before continuing to Chkalovsky Airbase outside Moscow.

More flights planned for near future.

SU-GCI isn't in Egyptair fleet anymore afaik. It is due out of KBL soon for Tirana, Albania, as AJY9003.

A friend of mine who's a FO on the IL76 in the Aerospace Forces confirmed for me this information. He was on one of the aircraft that flew in couple days back. And they also had Ukrainian citizens on board that weren't picked up by the Ukrainian IL76.

A Royal Norwegian Air Force C-130J Hercules has been operating in Kabul, evacuating people between Kabul and Tblisi. So far 1000 people are evacuated by 13 flights.

The last flight was this afternoon. I believe there are still Norwegians running and operating the field hospital at Kabul airport.

Hey many years ago I was at one point a broadcast TV camera person/production assistant in studios and the field for some time also a talent. The tracking shot of the C-17 landing (camera operator shifts from covering the airfield to the final approach and very smoothly tracks the aircraft through flare and l-o-n-g roll down the runway (seems relatively high speed?) -- and keeps focus / frame all the time !!

A.nuts take note in how to track aircraft with any imaging sensor. Any background on the Reuters feed / video crew / how they stream out of Kabul? . Too bad no time code, but I am sure the original stream has the timecodes embedded. I love timecodes

But (too late now) wasn't there a persistent risk of missiles if bad guys had access to that same vicinity at a high elevation over the runway ...

Not so fast though.... ZS-TGY a 737-500 looks to in bound via Muscat to Pakistan likely to Islamabad. Almost certainly linked to the evacuation efforts in Kabul.

ZS-TGY seems to have landed in Kabul. Not sure who this charter is for. I see the callsign changed to EDGE20 inside Afghan airspace.

Seems like Kamair have 4 of their aircraft on the ground in Mazar for the last 12 hours plus. 2 x A340's KMH/U and 2 x B733s KMK/L.

Mazar has a lot more parking space available right now compared to Kabul. Probably a lot safer for them too.

Unconfirmed on twitter, but suggestions that ZS-TGY might be the Pen Farthing/Nowzad animal charter. Just airborne from Kabul, heading South West, so likely towards the UAE/Qatar rather than Tashkent.
