There are no good ATR or Dash routes in the U.S. People expect jets. Props are uncompetitive against jets in any competitive market. Look at how quickly AS brought E75s to supplement the Q400s when DL went to 170 flights (all 2-class) in SEA. DL, AA and UA all understand this and dumped their props years ago. Don't go on about CASM efficiency on short stages. Profit is revenue - cost.

It very likely will not. Would not surprise if ATL-JNB (DL) and EWR-JNB (UA) are suspended by the weekend.

I think the only way props can make a comeback is on an electric 19 seat airplane. It’s easier to visualize for the public, and might be the difference in Middleofnowhere, USA having air service or not.

Seems that the damage has been fixed as of the week of Thanksgiving and now they are working through all the tests. The log hasn't been updated for a few days so hopefully they will be back working on it this week now that it's Monday.

A new, inaugural flight inaugural flight between Washington D.C./Dulles and Lagos, Nigeria will begin Monday, Nov. 29 as scheduled.
United also plans to restart service between New York/New York/Newark and Cape Town on Dec. 1.

Not delaying EWR-CPT is really surprising.
I get that they're mainly capturing US tourist traffic and Americans can still come and go, but I can't imagine touring the Western Cape is all too enticing at the moment.
I won't complain as I have a vacation tentatively booked for there President's Day weekend time but I am truly shocked that isn't getting delayed so far.
