NetJets orders 100 additional Embraer Phenom 300s

Tue Oct 12, 2021 4:32 am

Embraer and NetJets signed a continuing deal for up to 100 additional aircraft. As part of the deal, NetJets will begin taking delivery of the Phenom 300E in the second quarter of 2023, for both U.S. and European ops.

NetJets signed its initial Phenom 300 order back in 2010 for 50+75 options and currently operates over 100 frames.

Quite the vote in confidence in the aircraft and market conditions by NetJets

Amazing, over 200 of the type. Now of course the oldest rotated out, but this is showing demand for the E300.

They need planes ASAP.
Business is so strong they had to suspend sale of jet cards and new fractional shares in order to meet current client demand.
For now they have 60 frames arriving in 2022

Good article from BJT. While NetJets publicly positions itself as being miles ahead of its next closest competitors, this move shows that they are taking aggressive steps to stay ahead of WheelsUp and the like who are awash with fresh capital looking to go on a buying spree of their own.

Anecdotally, it feels like I've been seeing new NetJets metal all over the place lately; I guess they really are growing at a rapid clip.

Really surprised by their success. I guess that illustrates my own shortsightendness and bias. I just didn't see a super strong business case. I was very wrong.

The article brought up about the air show coming up. Did Netjets place this now to get ahead of this competition. They now have their 100 coming before any follow on 300's.

Not just an air show, one of the biggest annual trade shows in the US, the NBAA, now called the Business Aviation Convention and Exposition (BACE). Lots of orders for them beyond the Phenoms, too.

NTT has 800 planes now. Interesting mix in the large cabins—5500s and 7500s skipping the 6500. A friend, during a sale several years ago, speculated that anyone with the money for a G6500 would just put up the extra $10 million and have the latest and greatest. Maybe that’s been Net Jets experience.
