New airline for SRQ
Sarasota-Bradenton International is announcing on Thursday morning a new airline, adding to the 10 already there. Any idea of airlines making new destination announcements on Thursday that could be part of this? Spirit? Breeze?

If it's Spirit it will probably be SRQ-EWR, MKE, IND, STL, CMH, MCI, & AUS based on their latest trends of Florida additions. Could throw BDL & MHT in there for extra credit.

If NK adds service to SRQ, I probably would also expect NK to add SRQ-DTW nonstop service as NK has recently added nonstop service out of DTW to some other leisure destinations such as MIA and PHX.

Avelo has bids out for ground handling at SRQ so they are heading to SRQ for sure. Spirit has long been rumored as well tho.

Breeze wouldn’t make much sense, with TPA up the road. To early for them to start eating away at their own traffic

That would make six Florida cities from HVN. With AA gone at HVN, it reminds me of TTN and Frontier. 12 flights, 6 to Florida and 6 to midwest cities. HVN will have to see how the Florida service is received but it should go over big and regain some of the passenger leakage from BDL.

It’s showing up on Avelo’s website in the drop down box to New Haven.

To add onto everyone saying XP I would like to note that Avelo put a poll on their story today asking if they should add new routes and then subsequently announced RDD-LAS (also they've been doing sales like every few days now which I don't know is normal for a startup ULCC since I wasn't around for Indy and Skybus)

Fantastic news! That'll be 6 destinations served nonstop out of New Haven now. I wish them the very best and am so excited about this!

Skybus had a page on their website where you could submit destination suggestions, but social media was nowhere near then what it is today.
