Shame not to see the A330neo in the running.

Why would they though? Saudia has had two 747-8 freighters mothballed for the past two years. If they can't make money with them during the biggest airfreight bonanza in history, how will they make money with something expensive and new?
To be clear I'm not arguing with you but rather the notion of what the CEO is saying.

- More 787-9s and -10s for thiner long haul routes
- A350s to replace 77Ws for dense routes to Sub-continent, Manilas, London
- A330Neos for the regional fleet

I agree, it keeps getting eliminated in the early rounds, and I'm not sure why. It is more than adequate for "regional" use, and in this case no problem with EU, Africa, Asia, Oceana, given where Saudi is positioned. Maybe it is the predictive maintenance stuff that is built into the newer frames that makes the difference?

Macron is there on a visit tomorrow…
First head of state to meet MBS since… recent issues…. Quite an unpopular risky move with elections coming soon so the local media in France are predicting that it most be worth an awful lot of contracts….
