It’s technically #477 now as Airbus undelivered 2 A350s “delivered” to SU at the end of last year.

Yes, they are both still in storage in France (CHR I think).

SU technically didn’t fully pay for the planes and take full ownership yet (just enough that Airbus could legally consider it a delivery come audit time) which is why Airbus is able to undo the deliveries. Obviously SU will be refunded when Airbus can legally pay them.

Airbus didn’t widely publicize the delivery undos for obvious reasons. If you look at the delivery tab in the latest Airbus orders and deliveries worksheet you will see a -2 at the bottom for the A350.

The already spoken of 3t mtow increase results in a 400 km range improvement per the latest a350 facts and figures document. The previous brochure range was 15000km and is now 15400km. This will help customers like Delta lift more cargo on Lax-Syd etc. The retro applicability to older airframes is unknown at this point as a mew decrease and engine improvements are rumored(air current/ostrower reported last year) to be part of the package.

(1) Old news. This went public last year. Airbus is just getting around to updating their site.

(2) DL hasn't even selected this option in their current nor incoming birds, so not sure why they're being brought up, save for this site's ridiculous obsession with A359s somehow struggling on LAX-SYD, even at 275tonnes.

LAX-SYD? Shouldn't the A359 already be able to do that? QR flies the A359 on DOH-MIA which is even farther (albeit weight-restricted in the winter I hear)

I clearly mentioned it has been spoken of before but the actual range figures are known only now. I spoke about DL since the LAX-SYD route would be an example of a route where this additional capability would payoff. So will LAX-SIN for SQ. I will not quote anything not in the public domain but suggest you wait a few months as I have a hunch(maybe more) you will be proven wrong about the 283t variant and DL.

It does that very comfortably but the additional capability brings more revenue on the cargo side.

Unsubstantiated presumption for the win! :roll:

DL doesn't even bother prioritizing the route for the 280tonne birds, which they could've started doing well before Covid, for 20%+ savings over the 77Ls (by their own admission).

N511DN has flown it more than any other ship, and that aircraft is limited to 275T.

I hate to burst your bubble but Philippine Airlines never had any -1000's. These jets from lessors Avolon (2), SMBC Aviation Capital Ltd., and Goshawk are the -former RP-C3503/4/6/7 going to LH as D-AIVA/B/C/D.

The aircraft mentioned in the article are the former Philippine Airlines 359's, the first of which just entered service with Lufthansa introducing a "new" (or should we say a modern day) business class inherited from its former owners.

Lufthansa ordered five (5) A350-900 on 12 May last year. It has been suggested they are for Swiss. And at least one website believes this is so.

It's between TK and Airbus. Airbus had to cancel Aeroflot's deal due to the sanctions, so nothing to do with them anymore.

Aeroflot, or maybe a financier/lessor will have made substantial progress payments on these aircraft. Sanctions prevent Airbus from doing business with AFL. Goodness knows what the contract says about force majeure such as is the situation today. Perhaps AFL will accept to release the aircraft from the contract for resale. Given that Turkish airspace is still open to Russian carriers and AFAIK Turkey has not applied sanctions to Russian enterprises, then what would stop THY from purchasing the 4 aircraft and a legal arrangement found (by whom and how i know not) to have the pre-payments refunded to AFL or applied to future business, if and when calmer times return?
