Turkish for Aeroflot, four of them.

That's interesting considering Turkish cancelled their original order of 25 down to 20. Do you have a link to a source for this news?

Yup, but in Turkish.

Aeroflot, or maybe a financier/lessor will have made substantial progress payments on these aircraft. Sanctions prevent Airbus from doing business with AFL. Goodness knows what the contract says about force majeure such as is the situation today. Perhaps AFL will accept to release the aircraft from the contract for resale. Given that Turkish airspace is still open to Russian carriers and AFAIK Turkey has not applied sanctions to Russian enterprises, then what would stop THY from purchasing the 4 aircraft and a legal arrangement found (by whom and how i know not) to have the pre-payments refunded to AFL or applied to future business, if and when calmer times return?

"But the net number of deliveries stood at 140 after two for Aeroflot (AFLT.MM) were cancelled due to sanctions on Russia."

"Airbus had counted the two A350 deliveries for Aeroflot in its end-year tally in December as part of its forecast-beating annual deliveries, but the planes did not fly to Russia. Airbus has also cancelled the associated Aeroflot order, data showed."

"Airbus may seek new owners for these assets," Jefferies analyst Chloe Lemarie said in a note."

According to an article (German only) published today in Aero.de Lufthansa is in contact with Airbus about A350-Slots from Aeroflot and Qatar. It does not say if that includes the two completed Aeroflot aircraft or just future manufacturing slots. But they mention Lufthansa may take the A350-1000 in place of the 777-9 since it is not clear as to when and if that will become available. More 359's are likely required due to the uncertainty as to when the 789's will become available. Lufthansa are surely trying to cover their back!

I think we're maybe getting a sense that far from these frames being 'orphans' they are perhaps instead actually in high demand. If so, Airbus could be entertaining offers for them from multiple sources and will choose the best. There are probably lots of things at play, possibly including whether any interested party might be in the frame to also take on the future delivery positions for the other unbuilt SU or QR frames.

(Hypothetically) What happens to the undelivered SU frames if the sanctions come to an end? Will they go to SU?

The reality is that sanctions won't be ending for the foreseeable future. It's actually likely Russia will be isolated for perhaps decades, whether they withdraw from Ukraine or not, such is the scale of what Russia has done. The SU birds simply won't be going to SU. Step forward LH to take them?

Will the -1000 ever get the larger sharklets of the -900? Perhaps with the introduction of the -ULR maybe?

I'm unclear about whether these were fitted to -1000s from the beginning, and ported back to the -900 along with other improvements, or not.

It's not a new Airbus Delivery. More like a second hand delivery between the lessor and the Airline.

Exactly. So it can't be considered #484 total. It must have been counted before (in 2019). It surely won't appear as a delivery in Airbus's May totals.

I read the Reuters article but can't find the exact reason behind the A350 delay. Is it because Airbus can't deliver on time or is it the airline's choice? Not directed at you alone but anyone else in the know...

I think the cancellation is out of the airline’s control. Maybe Airbus has promised or discussed with EK a possible solution for the paint issues and EK has chosen to wait?

If I´m not wrong the first 4 ITA Airways A350s are ex Hainan machines so already accounted for in the production list ( i mean originally built for Hainan but not taken up). However I don´t know who owns them, Airbus or ALAFCO and therefore if they should count as new contractual delivery or not.

To the best of my knowledge, 270 and 283 have flown but were never delivered.

285, 308, 323, 338, 351 and 355 (all rumoured to be for ITA) were all delivered (to Alafco or CIT) in 2019.

So, 308 isn't a new delivery but 270 will be.

285, 308, 323, 338, 351 and 355 (all rumoured to be for ITA) were all delivered (to Alafco or CIT) in 2019.

So, 308 isn't a new delivery but 270 will be.

There is a list with all delivery dates (contrctual and physical) in a Google spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vSCPXJ6eM4QZy61p-3xC8rrcortF-tupJLACqrU9whhLwmbEkRdqyk-LGge2FugfiPdYtELI6pN0CmL/pubhtml

Thanks.

FlightGlobal reporting that Turkish will take six additional frames. I'm assuming these are NTUs, as they're being delivered this year and in 2023? Possibly Aeroflot frames? Any more concrete info now?

Yes, it is also reported on the Turkish Public Disclosure Platform in Turkish. Usually, this is a pretty solid source of information.

Just noted on FR24, A359 EI-GWZ, flying LH495 YYZ-MUC, no photo on FR24/Jetphotos, no photo on A.net, no result within A.net forum, no result on airfleets...
First flight recorded on FR24 Apr. 21st FRA-FRA, 3h, as FDZ007.
Any more news on this plane?

EDIT: it has to be D-AIVA - LN 228 - former Philippine Airlines RP-C3503
A leased plane.

It is D-AIVA. There are photos on JetPhotos on it. Why its flying on flight tracker in EI- reg nobody knows. maybe they forgot to change the box or maybe that hex belongs to D-AIVA.

EI-GWZ was it’s brief previous registration with the owner after PR returned the plane but before LH took delivery.

Today's flight from MUC>YVR was flown as EI-GWZ, but the return is showing flying as D-AIVA!

Not anymore, EI-GWZ is on the return.

Again as EI-GWZ fliying YUL-MUC.
D-AIVA has no recorded flight in the last 90 days (my "silver" limit on FR24).
I was looking for the Lufthansa fleet thread but cannot find anywhere... and the search tool doesn't help (better, I cannot get it working)
