Breeze will return to PIT-BDL in early February and will be adding PIT-MSY. Both flights will be operated by an A220.

Just checked schedules, BDL to PIT is mid day, but the PIT to BDL flight lands at 11PM.

Yes the plane will fly MXY554 BDL-PIT-MSY and then MXY555 MSY-PIT-BDL with a BDL based crew and aircraft.

If you look at Breeze’s route map/Flight schedule, flights are numbered systematically; 1xx are TPA, 2xx are CHS, 3xx are MSY, 4xx are ORF, 5xx are BDL, 6xx are PVU and 7xx will likely be PVD once that base officially opens early next year. Even numbered flights are outbound flights from the base and Odd numbered flights are the flights heading back to base.

"Taking off: Rates for Pittsburgh International Airport airlines increasing next year"

"Airlines flying out of Pittsburgh International Airport are facing a nearly 16% increase in their rates next year under a $142.2 million budget approved Friday.

The cost to board a passenger at the Findlay airport will jump from $10.32 to $11.97, or 15.9%, in the 2023 spending plan unanimously adopted by the Allegheny County Airport Authority board.

It marks the second time in three years that the per-passenger cost has increased for the airlines, although the airport authority stated that the new rate is still below the 10-year average of $13.
"

Also of note:
"The Allegheny County Airport Authority is predicting that 2023 passenger volume will be 90% of pre-pandemic levels. Christina Cassotis, the authority’s CEO, told the board Friday that traffic is currently about 84% of what it was in 2019 before COVID hit."

So PIT's pandemic recovery is over a year behind that of peer airports and the rest of the nation, which is already 90% recovered.

"October cargo operations at Pittsburgh International Airport reach lowest levels since 2017"
"Air cargo operations at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) continue to post a decline month-to-month as the global headwinds often cited by the Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA), the managing organization of PIT, remain.

During the month of October, PIT had 17.1 million pounds of cargo travel across its runways, down 28% from the 23.9 million pounds it saw during the same month last year. In fact, PIT's cargo operations by weight last month are the smallest for any October since 2017, which is when PIT posted 15.8 million pounds worth of cargo operations.

The decline follows a 26% decrease in cargo operations at PIT year-over-year during the month of September while August and July posted double-digit percentage declines as well.

Oct numbers are out; total passengers up 11% and cargo down 29%:

On the topic of economic development, this news video sums up Pittsburgh's woes quite well although it is the same decades old story:
https://www.cbsnews.com/pittsburgh/news ... rgh-pause/

It's laughable that Tom Murphy is advising other cities on economic development; he was the worst Pittsburgh mayor when it came to economic development. How many more decades are regional leaders gonna talk about what needs to be done instead of actually enacting policy change to make that happen? It will take several years for the State's recent decrease in corporate taxes to take hold in any meaningful way.

SAN was very popular when F9 flew the short-lived route. Maybe Breeze will take a look at that down the road once they grow the fleet of A220's.

I think this is an attempt to serve both Los Angeles and San Diego with a single flight.

Clevelander here excited to take my first BA flight late March, one stop PIT-LHR-NICE, return MRS (Marseille)-LHR-PIT. Do you think the pax would mind if I surveyed them on how many live closer to CLE than PIT, I'm sure curious? I believe, without evidence, that IAG added DUB to CLE rather than LHR so as to avoid cannibalization. Has it been noted on this forum, I think BA is 7x during an extended summer period in 2023, all the way through October?

British Airways will add a fifth weekly frequency on the London (Heathrow) – Pittsburgh route on April 24, 2023. This will increase to a sixth weekly flight on May 14, 2023.

I discovered something fairly interesting while poking around on Google Flights today. F9 is resuming PIT-DEN on Feb 16th next year. Instead of cutting PIT-MCO though, F9 is going to run both routes simultaneously through to the end of the booking window (currently Aug 15th)
When was the last time that F9 did that?

I'm thinking it was 2018 or maybe 2019.

Massive capacity bump to DEN next year between WN and F9. I wonder if UA will make any adjustments.

How did your airfare compare to connecting options with other carriers?

Mohawk normally I could answer your question, I'm someone who can spend hours looking and learning from fares but in this case I used AA miles business class. Of note, miles through London tend to be cheaper, but the taxes are very high on mileage tickets. I was curious if the good miles deal was a PIT thing, and so I looked up BNA and MSY on the same days, they were the same on their BA flights. On other dates I looked at, booking a business class award on the PIT LHR flight was not an option at any amount of miles.

The experience does make me wonder if LHR is at a competitive disadvantage on connections relative to CDG FRA AMS etc. but probably a topic for another forum!

Glad about the direct to HOU coming back. Apart from the neighborhood around Hobby being a little sketchy although I've never had any issues at the hotels around there, HOU has it all over IAH as far as fast access to downtown. I've been taking AA PIT-DFW-HOU unless the layover time isn't good.
