LIM-SJO does hace O/D traffic demand for thrice weekly, however, for daily, Volaris will surely need connecting traffic @ SJO..

The connectivity of Volaris Costa Rica is quite limited at SJO.
Prior to March 2020, LATAM did operate LP LIM-SJO 3x weekly as well, with 319/320 mix.
I did a quick check and both AV SJO-LIM and LP LIM-SJO are in service at this time, meaning three competitors in such market soon.

LP LIM-SJO recently came back to Costa Rica and Volaris will also fly the same route from June.

Copa Airlines has recently opted for the inauguration of new stations in South America:

June 28: Panama City - Santa Marta, 3x weekly
June 30: Panama City - Barcelona, 3x weekly.

They would follow this idea, over the resumption of some destinations that are not available since March 2020: Port au Prince, Barbados, Holguin, Santiago de los Caballeros, Salta, New Orleans, Puerto Vallarta, Recife, Salvador de Bahia and Liberia.

Non Stop flight, those are local times. Ehe east coast of Mexico is 1 hour ahead of Guatemala City.
Flight time is 2 hours and 20 minutes.

México (MID Yucatán) observes Daylight Savings Time, Guatemala doesn't.

Correct. Mexico Daylight Saving Time starts always on the first Sunday of April, so right now Merida and Guatemala have the same time, but on April Merida will be one hour ahead.

Check this sentence: back in the 80s and 90s and prior to the merger within Grupo Taca, Aviateca from Guatemala used to stop in Merida, in their flights to either Houston and New Orleans.

If I recall correctly, when Guatemala City was a base for Pan Am back in the 70s, MID used to be a layover for their flights heading to Chicago.
I couldn't validate this sentence with official sources.

IMHO, if CM would want to complement its flights offer to Mexico City, TLC region has a more wealthier passenger base than NLU, it'll be to TLC; 2-3 days per week, at times which require an extra frame to/from MEX.
However, nobody knows how much the Mexican government will woo (not to write 'force') CM to offer some kind of service to NLU.

Condor Flugdienst never returned to Central America.
DE FRA-PTY had left their services prior to March 2020 and DE FRA-SJO is not in the radar again. These flights stopped in Dominican Republic.
LH FRA-PTY and LH FRA-SJO are the only choices for this market.
Check the new paint-scheme announced on Condor.

AM MEX-SAP has been operating, so long ago.
LACSA also stopped at SAP sometimes, in their flights to MEX.
COPA during the 727-200 era, also flew PTY-SAP-MEX.

Back in the 1970's TAN Airlines (TX) operated non stop service TGU-MEX-TGU on Lockheed L-188 Electra flights TX370/TX371 same days as AM nowdays: TUE/THU/SAT.

After the merger with SAHSA (SH) this fight operated until early 90s as a nonstop MEXTGU only in 737-200. TGUSAPMEXTGU was the route. This flight was renumbered as TX970/971, then SH970/971 I believed, not sure. TAN/SAHSA entered into default leaving unpaid bills and decided to close MEX station before the airline shutdown in 1994.

TX TGU-MEX in the 70s with Electra planes !
These route maps also showed TGU-ADZ-PTY, many years ago
TACA, SAHSA and LACSA utilized turbo-prop airplanes as cargo services, in the 70s and 80s.
During their early years, they transported passengers and then refurbished to cargo planes.
COPA also utilized turbo-props and jumped to the 737-200s in the early 80s, if I recall correctly.

Well, Tocumen's T2 is actually open, but only on the airside. Right now, they're opening other sections, but in a slower and gradual pace, because of a legal dispute against the construction contractor due to breach of contract as far as I know. And regarding T1, they're just upgrading the air conditioning system in some areas.
