I remember this crash well - it was a shock to many that a brand new B734 could be involved in a crash!

Remember it very well I was at T1 LHR on that day. I believe the Co Pilot died back in 2004 after spending his later years in his home town on the coast in NI.

I remember watching it taxi out for take off. By the time I got home, it had crashed. Sobering stuff.

I was driving back from Christmas with the family last week and came back through Lockerbie and then past EMA on the M1. Weird how a country with such a good safety record in the last few decades had two such horrendous crashes in the space of three weeks. We studied Kegworth many times from a CRM point of view, the perfect example of the holes all lining up on the Swiss cheese model. RIP to all who perished.

Remember this too, and yes, so soon after Lockerbie. RIP to all who perished in both incidents.
