Earlier in the pandemic, there was news that Japanese airlines Air Do and Solaseed Air were seeking a merger.
The carriers have now agreed to form a joint holding company "Regional Plus Wings Corporation" by October under which the two ANA-backed carriers would be incorporated.
In the short term the two companies will retain their own brands and AOCs, but seek to reduce costs by standardizing operations, joint aircraft maintenance and procurement.
