Most of the people in the vid didn't even seem to realise or care of what had happened, and thought it was just another over head landing.

Amazing how a 240 seater A321N can operate from JSI (1600m rwy). I wonder if there were load restrictions?

I was wondering the same. There might also be another stop before flying back to Europe. I tried to look this up but could not find the itineraries....

I think this kind of landing is unfortunately destined to extinction...one day someone will get hurt and the area will become restricted or closed-off to onlookers...

No other stops en route - however the longest route W6 flies from JSI is MXP. Their current flight program out of JSI - operated by a mixture of A21N and A20N - is:
- 2w to BRI (https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/w65653)
- 2w to MXP (https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/w65687)
- 2w to NAP (https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/w68447)
- 2w to FCO (https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/w68315)

Oh, I realise my mistake!
After looking at the video, I thought it was SXM. I should have read the title more carefully. Nothing impressive with this flight length indeed.
Thanks!

Agreed. What I don't understand is why people insist on standing right under the flight path of the landing aircraft. Staying off to one side still provides the same incredible view without putting oneself in harm's way. Same goes with St. Martin and St Barts. Whenever there's a close call (or that time at St. Barts when a wheel came in contact with a tourist) my first question is why they needed to be directly under the plane?

Because it's fun really, these people aren't necessarily plane spotters. They're in it for the thrill not the view.

The people on the beach probably think that it's completely safe because otherwise the beach would be closed off. And if every pilot flew the correct approach vertical path they'd be right.
