Flightradar24 currently shows 9 G4 aircraft on the ground at PIE. One to TYS- it looks like the rest may be re-positioning to CVG today using 9000 flight numbers.

Forecasters are talking about a "nor'easter" type impact for the east coast of FL with higher winds and heavy rains as Ian rotates off to the west. I would expect some delays will occur, plus ATC will have their hand's full vectoring everyone around cells.

Looks like the last scheduled departure tomorrow for DL is a 5:05 pm to ATL.
United is operating all flights and has moved up its 6:15 to EWR to 4:45. Their 5:35 to IAH now leaves at 4:00
WN will wrap with their 4:05 to MKE
Alaska’s SEA flight will be stopping in ATL presumably for fuel
B6 still has a 5:25 to LGA scheduled to go.
Air Canada will fly 1 flight tomorrow
Avelo does not have a scheduled departure tomorrow
AA has canceled all departures after 5:00
Breeze has two A220s scheduled to go out to ORF tomorrow morning, they do not appear to be for sale, though.
Cayman is sending it's 738 back to GCM tomorrow and it has 58 seats available for as low as $253 for those who want to rough it out down there...business class is also wide open at $503 for those who want a little luxury in their evacuation!
F9 will finish with a 1:10 to ATL
Silver will only fly its 8:05 to FLL tomorrow
Sun Country will fly its MSP flight as scheduled
NK last flight will be to SJU at 4:05
For PIE the only flight is G4 1424 to TYS at 11:32am
SRQ remains open, as does RSW and PGD, as well as MCO and SFB...for now

DL has put a 717 doing non-rev turns on ATL-TPA throughout the day today. There is a morning turn ATL-TPA-ATL 9895, and an afternoon turn ATL-TPA-ATL 9896 (which will probably be the last DL flight out of TPA once they get the last revenue flights out).
This appears to employee / non-rev extra segments serving a few purposes:
One, to extra / TDY employees into TPA today to help with ops/getting flights out today, secure the ramp & infrastructure. Local employees often have enough issues to be concerned about their own personal situations, its common to ferry-in extra employees from unaffected stations to help-out. Some will likely ride out the storm in TPA to be available to support restart of ops.
Two, get seats to commuting flight crews (pilots, FAs) to get them out of TPA and up ATL to be available to fly. DL (and other airlines) have a ton of commuters in TPA, and would otherwise be stuck for a few days without communting flights, and likely full revenue flights today headed outbound from TPA.
No idea if they allowing employees family members to fly on these or not.
Also being used to deadhead crews in/out throughout the day today, as DL typically overnights a lot of crews in TPA. Thus deadheading back crews to ATL that would typically overnight in TPA, and deadheading in crews to fly out the last of outbounds today.

Interesting things to note: There appears to be high-level wind shear moving SW to NE at the outer bands of the storm. This has made the storm much more compact than it was overnight. Ian also appears to be making a turn to the NE and this is where things get interesting.
In 2004 Hurricane Charley had a similar track to Ian and was originally expected to hit the Tampa Bay Area. But high-level steering currents (similar to Ian's) moved that storm more to the NE after crossing Cuba. Charley was then changed direction to make landfall in the Sanibel-Captiva and Charlotte Harbor area. It then moved up the center of the state and stayed at hurricane force all the way past the Orlando area. That storm was also fairly compact in size with a tight, but with a dangerous band of hurricane force winds close to the eye wall. It was also a fairly dry storm.
Here's Ian's latest advisory: https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/M ... 1500.shtml
Top winds are down a bit (now 115 mph) after crossing Cuba, but it is still at Category 3 strength. As it crosses the Florida Straits, which has the warm Gulf Stream current that will feed Ian energy, this storm most likely will re-organize and strengthen over the course of the afternoon and evening today.

jetBlue has cancelled the 5:25 to LGA, meaning the last scheduled departure will be DL to ATL at 4:50pm
As for SRQ, DL2569 to ATL at 6:05pm will be the final departure.
RSW has canceled all ops tomorrow, and many on Thursday. It appears that the last flight schedule will be jetBlue 1730 at 6:45 (but the last flight will ACTUALLY be a delayed jetBlue flight 2060 to LGA at 7:25), but FlightAware is still showing their cargo ops as on time tonight...
It also appears WN ferried a plane down to RSW From TPA and that plane (using two different flight numbers) is headed to ATL, presumably being used to ferry employees.
ALSO BREAKING: MCO will suspend ops tomorrow at 10:30am

Odd that TPA is shut down while RSW still has flights coming in and out, especially since RSW is already getting rain/wind.

I don't think B6 2060 will make it. It still hasn't left New York and conditions are deteriorating in Fort Myers.

only reason was because of the evacuation zone. RSW is not in an evacuation zone, and while TPA is critical infrastructure, the city is a ghost town tonight, as they were planning for a direct hit. Winds under 45mph don't really effect takeoffs and landings, the real reason they suspend flights sooner is to allow employees to prepare their homes and evacuate. Up until this morning, Fort Myers area was not expecting more than some tropical storm force winds, and thus, employees did not need to prepare their homes for the most part.

It’s also to secure jetways, ground vehicles, etc. etc.
you can’t just leave everything out in the open like a normal overnight shift change.

Often the mechanics can override the normal limits so the overall profile of the bridge can be made smaller by backing it up towards the building, and lowering it as far as possible. They will also ensure the doors are locked, and add extra protection to keep the doors closed. The wheels can be chocked like an aircraft, and sometimes they can be chained down to portable concrete jersey barriers. They can also shut the bridges off at the electrical connections to the buildings so that there's no power, should water leak in.
HURRICANE IAN: All operations will cease and RSW will close tonight, Sept. 27 at 9 p.m. Please remember, the airport is not a public shelter.
