American Airlines ground workers at LHR have voted overwhelmingly to strike over pay dispute. Will likely come to the wire, but I would guess a last minute agreement will be reached. LHR is out of Bidens reach to order them back to work.
UNITE is calling AA's last, best, final, offer a "three-year pay cut." It goes on to note that UA mechanics, also represented by UNITE, are voting to strike with polls closing in the next few hours. We should all hope that these mechanics are rewarded for their perseverance during the pandemic and provided wages that will allow them to provide for their families in the face of inflation rates not seen in most of their lifetimes.
AA does all its own handling at LHR, except Loading & Towing (Menzies)& Cargo.( WFS) When AA took over the TWAs routes in 1991 IIRC, they used to do everything , right up until they filed for chapter 11., around 2011. Then BA came and took over the below wing operation, but eventually threw in the towel. Baggage went back in house, loading /pushing/towing to Menzies.
