Looks very sharp. Are the NEOs intended to replace the CEOs 1-for-1?
What are planned total numbers, fleet-wide by type?

Is that an Austrian registration?
steman wrote:nicode wrote:When the 221 are to be delivered to ITA ?
According to informations from EAF website and italian aviation forums they will receive 5 A220-100 this year and the last 2 next year.
I wonder if the fleet plan and the current orders with Airbus and Lessors for all models will be confirmed, modified or outright dropped if and when Lufthansa
gets a stake in ITA.
LH might want to treat ITA like they do at Austrian: first bring your books in order and then you can buy new planes.
I hope that won´t be the case because the current fleet plan is really nice: A221, A223, A320/321NEO, A339, A359

By the way, I made a reservation using my Flying Blue miles and tried to add my Volare card - did not work. I called the FlyingBlue call center and they managed it: they removed the Flying Blue FF from the reservation and replaced it with my Volare Premium (SkyTeam Elite Plus) manually. Now, my reservation is showing some SkyTeam Elite Plus benefits (such as a second checked luggage for free), but strange enough lounge access is not showing as complimentary.

I received the email as well. Fact is that they joined SkyTeam in a very unorthodox way. All the Elite benefits on other SkyTeam members are null. Flew on Air Europa back in June and they didn't recognize my Volare card, no status, no benefits...nothing. Just try to book a flight with Delta, Air France, Air Euopa, etc and find Volare in the options for FF...is not there (Some still show MileMiglia tho). If you are joining an alliance this is not the way of doing things.
My guess is that they notice that their FF worth nothing on 2022 so they are extending it with the hopes that they can offer benefits across the board with all other SkyTeam members.

It won’t be needed. They joined SkyTeam just on a courtesy membership for a period of 1 year (I guess for the sake of continuity). They are just waiting to finalize the LH deal - once that’s finalized, they will just withdraw and join Star Alliance.

Understand what you are saying. However:
1.- The LH deal seems to be an on and off situation. Both parties keep bouncing back to each other, and even in that scenario, implementing a whole system into the alliance matrix can take years. So I don't expect that they will join *A as soon as they are part of the LH playground.
2.- When an airline joins an alliance they are part of the reciprocal benefits. This charade their pulled of admitting ITA as a courtesy has been dreadful. It does nothing but to put a bad image on SkyTeam where there's a member that does nothing but to add a pretty logo to their website. They should have treated their membership either as a new one or as they did with Aeroflot. Just treat it as a suspended member until they get their ducks in a row.
The group Lufthansa announced that it has submitted a letter of intent to the Ministry of Economy and Finance with the offer for entry into Italy Airways.
The company aims to initially acquire a minority stake, agreeing options to purchase the remaining shares at a later stage. Should the mission statement be signed by both parties, further negotiations and talks will be conducted in a manner exclusive right.
In particular, the talks will focus on the structure of a possible participation, on the commercial and operational integration of Ita Airways into Lufthansa and on the resulting synergies. Should a contract be concluded, the implementation of the transaction will be subject to the approval of the competent authorities.

It looks like during March 2023, the ITA (AZ) A320-NEO will operate the following routes:
FCO-Bari
FCO-Bologna
FCO-Brindisi
FCO-Brussels
FCO-Catania
FCO-Genova
FCO-Lamezia Terme
FCO-Linate
FCO-Palermo
FCO-CDG
FCO-Torino
FCO-VCE
From June, the NEO will also fly FCO-ATH.

DL is 3 x daily this summer, AA adding a second flight between July and August, and UA added a second daily flight in 2022 that will be back this year and extended through to October. Norse Atlantic also launching JFK-FCO, or re-launching, depending on one's point of view. So all in all, NY Area to FCO at peak will be 11 Daily Flights.

Wow, that is absolutely colossal.
I remember sometime around the late '80s there were something like 3 daily flights, one PA, one TW and one AZ (albeit, all flown by 747s). How things have changed!

Yup. TWA 840, AZ 611, and PA 110 were the flight numbers from JFK to FCO. The AZ and TW flights usually departed between 6pm and 6:45pm. The PA flight, I don't remember exactly.
The aircraft flying the Summer 2023 frequencies are:
DL (B767-300ER, A330-300) JFK
UA (B787-10, B777-200ER) EWR
AA (B777-200ER) JFK
AZ (A350-900, A330-200) JFK
Norse Atlantic (B787-9) JFK

Yep man, TW 840, PA 110 (...also via Nice sometimes??) and of course AZ 610. Good memories.
Also, the occasional Tower Air 747....
Back to ITA...someone knows which rotations are to operate the new A350 to JFK?
