Any photos of 737-800s with split scimitar? How quickly will the retrofits be done?

Scimitars (not split) were also announced for about ~70 752s; any announcement on when those will start being fitted?

Passing through OMA yesterday, N330NW/3230 is apparently still being worked on after its birdstrike back in November. Must have been quite the hit:

I believe 8315 will be the first A223 to get IFC (Viasat) during PTS.

93 aircraft are planned to enter the fleet in 2023 through new deliveries (47), previously owned (38), and reactivated from previously parked aircraft (8). It's important to note that the reactivations had been removed from Delta's fleet list.

47 New deliveries:
32 A321neo
8 A223
6 A339
1 A350

38 Used:
32 739 (Lion Air)
6 A350 (Latam)

8 Reactivations:
8 717

This information was shared in a flight operations email to all Delta pilots so is very solid.

The 1 A350 from the DL order seems oddly low. It probably made sense whenever the delivery schedule was put in place but seems weird now. The LATAM plane pick up makes even more sense seeing this.

Need to add 4 752s for reactivation in 2023.
No more new A350 deliveries until 2024.

I believe these aircraft were "parked" and not retired, therefore never removed from the official fleet count.

Nothing officially confirmed yet, but strong rumors / or statements of impending new categories opening in the next 1-2 years.
Doubt anything will be officially announced until the pilot contract gets settled.

However here has what has been unofficially rumored:

SEA A320 (with closure of the 7ER)
SLC A330
BOS A320
MSP 717 or 220

SEA A320 has been open for pilots for a year now.

BOS A330 is also rumored to be opened around same time as the NB sister.

If you meant the D1 suites, they will not. The current lay flat 75S will be coverted to a 75G next year.

Even more impressive is the mobile DL TechOps unit on a trailer.

Presume the 75G is the 199-seat config?

The 75G is the 193 seat configuration. They are domestic planes, purchased secondhand, with the same door configuration as the 75S. The 199 seat configuration is the “standard” domestic layout with the over wing exits on the 757s DL/NW purchased (mostly) new, that makes up the bulk of the domestic configured 757 fleet.

PSU.DTW.SCE - when you say SEA and BOS A320 base would this include all variants of the A32X?

The DL A320 pilot group fly A319, A320, A320 ceo/neo.

On last year’s thread there was a mention that DL was going to have the same seat vount as VS on the A339. I’m wondering if that would be possible without moving a lavatory at door 2. I don’t see DL having the door 2 lounge either, but that would be cool if they did.

Even more impressive is the mobile DL TechOps unit on a trailer.

The trailer is a sheet metal shop on wheels. It has a large generator, air compressor, lights, air conditioning, heat and a large awning that attaches to it. Inside it has a shear, a metal brake, a roller, belt sander etc. It resides in Atlanta and is dispatched for large structural repairs. It was carried to The Azores in an Antonov in 2019 to repair ship 5643 when it suffered a hard landing.

Is there a link to more description of the mods that 767-300ERs are getting? I avoid those right now when I can for Delta One... but are they getting anything close to like what the 764s have?

Simple answer…NO! The B763ERs will never be getting the same D1 features that the B764ERs have.

The seat is basically the same as before. Don’t expect all the privacy partitions etc found on the 764. They have added memory foam cushions to the seat (thicker padding and more comfortable than the old seats), changed all the console table surfaces and seat pockets, and reupholstered the seats to the same colors and branding as on the 764. And they have added the same mood lighting found on new and updated aircraft

The 76K mod is primarily about adding PS. There are also updates as noted above, new lavs, and power outlets.

It’s having the Viasat IFC (In-Flight Connectivity) system installed. Better wifi system essentially.

Sorry for my idiotry, but would it have been theoretically possible for DL to add some kind of plastic partition to the 767 business product? I thought that with the arrangement of the Thomson Vantage seats, it wouldn't require much modification to simply add a barrier to the existing product, but I may be wrong.

It looks like they are focusing on getting the A319s done. Has this been typical of the IFC mods (focusing on an entire subfleet at once)?

Kinda/sorta but not really. It was mostly that way with the 321ceos/739s/75Ds. I thought it was going to be the case with the 738s, but that didn't happen.

They have the old reverse herringbone product in biz, which is different than the A339 which has suites. Premium economy is updated though.

Delta One is the branding for International first class, not a specific seat.

That being the seat is a 10 year old design and it’s still perfectly acceptable.

PMNW A332 & 333 got them installed in 2013-2014, and the last tranche were delivered new in 2015-2016.

You should also say that Delta One is the branding for International Business Class, and Domestic First Class when/where applicable…ie when the cabin is sold as FC as opposed to D1. When the cabin is sold as D1 on a domestic flight, then it’s called Domestic Business Class.
