To be a fly on the wall during these discussions:
With Ryanair having 409 737-800s and 84 737-8-200s... (with another 126 to be delivered), you wonder how hard MOL is pushing BA for a deal and is it really such a bad deal for BA such that they cannot accept an order?
Likewise, with so many carriers having ordered so many 737-10 MAX aircraft, well the queue is getting longer, you wonder why MOL thinks he can push so hard?
Ryanair without the 737-10 MAX is like Qantas without the 777-300ER ... oh wait that did happen... actually that's a bad comparison.... if Ryanair hadn't taken the737-8-200. that 's a better comparison. Either way... the MAX 10 seems to be the perfect continuation of the densification that started with their 737-8-200 orders... Feel like it will be in their fleet eventually.
Interesting gamesmanship and negotiating between both sides... the nosey part of me is curious to what is being said..
It would be nice to see them come together and put together an order for this aircraft. Would be cool to see the proposed 230 seat layout for it.
