From the Boeing earnings call today, Calhoun said that first revenue flights for the MAX-7 should occur in 2023, and for the MAX-10 in 2024.

The cost of upgrading the MAX fleet to the MAX-10 cockpit standard, is not large and has already been absorbed into the program, so should be no new charges for that.

Also said that there were 60 revenue flights for the MAX family within China in January, and 220 scheduled for February. And that Boeing is postured to assist the Chinese in RTS for their existing 100 or so aircraft.

Boeing has also paused the remarketing of Chinese MAX inventory, until intentions are clearer. Calhoun said it's too late for some of them, that are already in sales discussions.

The pausing of the Chinese MAX inventory is a great sign at the very least, maybe they gotten the sign that airlines are keen to take delivery.

Now that they are opening back up the need will increase. I am betting this had more to do with the fact that if they give up their place in line they would have to get in the back of the line that had already formed into the late 2020s at both A and B.

In other 10 MAX news, Ryanair and Boeing are negotiating again (though MOL seems a bit pessimistic).
https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news ... ng-nowhere

To be a fly on the wall during these discussions:

With Ryanair having 409 737-800s and 84 737-8-200s... (with another 126 to be delivered), you wonder how hard MOL is pushing BA for a deal and is it really such a bad deal for BA such that they cannot accept an order?

Likewise, with so many carriers having ordered so many 737-10 MAX aircraft, well the queue is getting longer, you wonder why MOL thinks he can push so hard?

Ryanair without the 737-10 MAX is like Qantas without the 777-300ER ... oh wait that did happen... actually that's a bad comparison.... if Ryanair hadn't taken the737-8-200. that 's a better comparison. Either way... the MAX 10 seems to be the perfect continuation of the densification that started with their 737-8-200 orders... Feel like it will be in their fleet eventually.

Interesting gamesmanship and negotiating between both sides... the nosey part of me is curious to what is being said..

It would be nice to see them come together and put together an order for this aircraft. Would be cool to see the proposed 230 seat layout for it.

Based on the 2022 Earnings Call transcript (01/25/2023), Boeing is sticking to price discipline:
"Kristine Liwag -- Morgan Stanley -- Analyst

Thanks, Dave. And if I could do a follow-up. With that environment that you described, it sounds pretty robust. Can you describe the pricing environment for these orders and how they compared to pre-COVID levels?

Dave Calhoun -- President and Chief Executive Officer

Yeah. Well, when you're in the midst of any one deal, it feels ruthless. But if you really do balance it out, and I guess I credit both manufacturers, it's been pretty disciplined through this whole COVID moment. And so, you see very few reaches and sort of crazy things that are out of the norm.

And now, we're in sort of that supply chain constraint world where people simply want to get positions so that they know they have airplanes when the time comes. Recessions don't seem to get in the way because, remember, we're competing for deliveries out four and five years from now. So, they're not really computing recession into that. So, anyway, I -- you know, again, I feel good.

And I -- also, I'm going to guess that -- because it's always a guess, that pricing will stay disciplined."

The MAX10 was over at Stansted last month, overnight stop I believe whilst flying around Europe. Pretty sure Ryanair would have taken a good look at it while on the ramp.

Type Boeing ACAP on google search and Boeing's own seat maps show up, including the 230-seat B737-10. Very packed cabin.
