I believe the new Intentional Gates are finished now although TUI is gone until April so they are sitting vacant right now.

Which days? Is this all week or just out and back for the 500?

I suspect the JAX avaition authority has been subsiding the JB route which is being dropped. Breeze should put a 220 on the route, better sized for the route than a 320 or 737. I know JAX has a large number of Delta Diamonds which is probably a good portion of the traffic to LAX so those folks would continue to route thru ATL rather than use another carrier. With AA, UA and WN from JAX the routing is all via Texas hubs. None of the Big 4 carriers like to overfly hubs if it's not necessary.

Sliver ran DAB-FLL for a short time around 2019 and the demand was not strong on the route.

What was more bizarre about this was that they painted a Saab in a Daytona Tortugas livery for it to almost immediately be irrelevant.
FF630 wrote:It is nice to see the Jacksonville Aviation Authority moving forward with the addition of another concourse which I hope attracts a few more nonstop destinations like SFO, SLC, and PHX. Someone will pick up LAX again since JB is discontinuing that service. All of these routes are well suited to an A220. Also once or twice weekly service to London would do well on a LC European carrier. Unfortunately, the airlines would prefer to route traffic thru their hubs from JAX because of economics.

Same for DAB. They sent a survey a few years ago seeming to indicate they were talking to F9/WN/3M/UA and seeking feedback on destinations; they'd briefly get 3M and Sunwing.
At least the pandemic led AA to expand to DCA/PHL/DFW (depending on time of year).

Allegiant's SFB base ops are a real detriment to DAB's growth. It is approximately a 45 minute drive from SFB to DAB, which is less drive time than SFB to the major Orlando tourist attractions. Budget conscious tourists visiting Daytona Beach can fly into SFB for substantially less on G4 than they can flying into DAB on AA or DL. There are usually more rental cars available at SFB than DAB, too.

I am sorry to hear this. DAB is the nicest airport I have ever flown into. SFB is a nice airport too, but it is a long distance to DAB in my experience. I'd rather land at DAB than SFB, partly because the things I like to do when I stop in the area are toward the coast, not to Orlando and the parks. I would love to see someone have direct flights to DAB sometime, I'd rather land on a farm field or I-4 construction zone than MCO.
Though I must say there is one thing I dislike about DAB, and that is all the growth from the airport to US 92. I went to pro umpire's school in Daytona and the fields were not far from DAB and turns 3/4 at the speedway. Where the fields were is now covered up by Marriott hotels .

VRB and the surrounding parts have a high concentration on people in HPN & BDL. Zero coemption and in a good spot between PBI & MCO. Loads have been very strong.

I bet ISP will be added too.

Sunwing started DAB a few years ago and ended it a year or two later. They, plan to add MLB later this year.

I’m hoping it’s either them or Breeze.

Doubt it will be Breeze as they’ve seem happy with their ops just down the road at VRB (which likely gave them a stellar deal to operate there).

Honestly with Avelo having a base at MCO I'd be hard pressed to believe it's them too. MLB is even closer and more easily accessible to MCO than DAB is.

SY does both MCO and MLB so it wouldn’t surprise me if Avelo serves both.

With a Breeze E195 having arrived at DAB about 2 hours ago, I'm thinking they're announcing service tomorrow.
