I’d love to see KLM try TPA-AMS or Delta resume with the A330-300.
Air France or Norse would do great for TPA to CDG
FlyerTalkUserNa wrote:I believe this was discussed upthread, but what role does AMS’s capacity restrictions play in this? Would be shocked to get CDG before MCO.

Nice. TPA was treated to the AY 359 last year and now it gets its first scheduled 77W (and first time visitor for LX).
On that note, when AY was subbing for WK, did the HCAA ever change the airline name displays and sign, or kept it "Edelweiss Air"?

AY subbed for EW Discover last year with the A350-900’s from FRA-TPA 5x weekly in the summer and increased to Daily in October before NW22

Still can't figure out why TPA isn't focused more on getting BOG or even MEX. I understand both Colombia aviation scene is ehh right now and Mexico is dealing with the FAA stuff, but those IMO should be a priority when you look at local demand, instead of trying to saturate the Euro market. Let's make sure Virgin is a success first before eying a slot controlled AMS or a CDG that even MCO can't even support.

Wow, that's going to be nice and a TPA first for scheduled 77W, would be prime miles redemption too if the price is right.
FlyerTalkUserNa wrote:Something weird going on. The flight was showing with the 77W seat map an hour ago on ExpertFlyer, but still with the LX 800* flight numbers. Now removed entirely. Wondering if they’ll update to a conventional LX flight number. 77W was only showing for 6/30 to whatever the last flight in July is. Can’t remember the exact date.

Edelweiss website https://flyedelweiss.com/ is showing as you indicate with a 3x4x3 seating in July when booking with ZRH as originating. If you want to book TPA as originating, you are directed to use http://www.swiss.com and that is not showing any flights at this time. I expect your search was TPA originating and it could be ExpertFlyer would reflect what Swiss offers.

Is this currently a limiting factor for any airlines? Will it increase the number of morning departures for anyone?

I assume it’ll help out AA, WN and anyone else who has a lot of RONs.
FLYKTPA wrote:Avianca applied for TPA!!
This is huge as TPA has been working on landing them for over a decade now.
While this application is no guarantee they’ll add TPA, it’s proof of interest.
Application shows they applied for TPA- BOG, MDE, BAQ, CLO and CTG. While it’s unlikely they’ll do anything besides BOG and maybe limited MDE imo, it’s nice to see them be optimistic about Tampa.
Hopefully we hear good news soon!

I also noticed TPA-FLL went back to two daily, and ATL went up to 5 daily. Any other frequency changes?

Sunwing could fly that instead. The takeover has just cleared with the regulators.

I'd imagine WS would also want to consolidate Sunwing. I don't think there's harm in WS operating to both TPA & PIE - This gives WS a network edge over AC, and SY is proving that model to work so far.

Looks like WS is proceeding with consolidating Sunwing as well. I still think then WS could maintain dual operations at TPA and PIE.
