AA Set To Match DL Pilots Pay Increase

Some good news for AA Pilots. They suffered immensely after 9/11. A 34 percent increase is positive news. I’m glad for the airline workers in general to finally starting to be paid their worth. From the late 1990’s through the post 9/11 era. These workers saw their careers destroyed. A whole generation of workers were the subject of pay cuts, lay offs and furloughs. The starting pay on the ramp was 10 dollars an hour in 2013. Southwest Ramp agents just signed on for 35/hr top pay for all airlines. I can now say that a young person can make a career working in the airline industry. The airlines are desperate for pilots and maintenance workers. Students have jobs before they graduate now. A qualified well trained well paid workforce will only help an airline succeed. Hopefully everyone will be satisfied.

Fully agree and support this. Hope we start to see more of this in Australia too! Airlines can charge what the market allows…. And the labour workforce can now do the same…

What do you mean exactly with "Southwest Ramp agents just signed on for 35/hr top pay for all airlines." Southwest Ramp Agents for All Airlines? TWU 555 is still in Negotiations and no agreement has been met.
