So...make the text bigger - like EVERY STINKIN' AIRLINE has in the last 5-10 years.

It’s just a cheap white paint job

This history image was released today with the reveal.

Thank you! Without the side by side I didn’t notice the wave effect, thought they had just added texture to the black and green.

Love the wing fences - otherwise not as bold or noteworthy as I would have expected for EK. I’d more describe it as a refresh than a new livery. Are they touching any other elements of the brand?

It's hideous. Why bother?

Count me in as far as the tail is concerned. My eyes hurt.

This probably won’t go down well with a lot of people, but i think Emirates aircraft are hideous looking. Black, green and red and then the advertisement on the bottom of the fuselage.

Does anyone know when the first 777 is scheduled to be repainted in the new livery?

Oversized airline name lettering on the aircraft makes it look like a tacky flying billboard. It looks awful on AA and it looks awful on Emirates.

They’ve captured the movement of the flag in the air (which is nice, and appropriate) but what is with the lines/ridges on the flag? To help detail the perception of movement perhaps? I think unnecessary and makes it look a little out of the step with the otherwise very 2D livery.

Overall, good though, incremental fresheners are positive but why not lift the dimension of the titles at the same time?

Yes, I think they lines are supposed to add a higher sense of movement. I don't think the livery looks too incoherent, but it is strange that there are 2D titles with a 3D flag.

Very nice and not shockingly different from the current livery. Not like, for example, the liveries introduced by some American airlines over the last few decades, some of which were entirely different to the previous ones and took time for us to get used to them.

I wasn't expecting a dramatic, revolutionary livery out of EK, but if the change is so minor, why bother?

I’m indifferent about the enlarged titles but I don’t care for the tail at all. I can see what they were going for but something about the execution looks really muddled, busy and cheap to me.

Apologies if this has already been posted, but I spotted a video of the process for the new livery.

Looking forward to seeing EK's 779's in the new livery.

Rred folding wingtips will look pretty cool :)
