Lincoln goes from way underserved to surprisingly well-served in one day.

The city of Lincoln via federal ARPA funds had a $3 million pool of incentives that they were going to use to lure service. With that list of destinations it wouldn't surprise me if they blew the entire pot on this. The recent IAH service had a $750,000 federal grant and the city and the university each chipped in an addition $250,000 for a total of $1.25 million.

How long would $3M last for twice a day Airbus operations?

Lincoln goes from way underserved to surprisingly well-served in one day. This might have been in the works for a while as LNK is nearing the completion of a terminal upgrade/expansion. They've had 4 gates for 7 daily flights for quite a while so this might explain why they decided to spend the money to expand.

Delta already had pulled out of both routes by the end of 2021. ATL was subsidized in the beginning and MSP was pro-rate / at-risk agreement with Skywest too. I don't think they have any intention of coming back and they're certainly not going to some back and compete against a heavily subsidized charter airline.

You're right...but I think an announcement of DL's return to LNK would have been more welcomed than this.

I hope a real airline will respond but I doubt it.

The CEO mentioned that MIA will hopefully be the next city served.

No doubt. They're essentially trying to do O/D from LNK to some destinations OMA doesn't even have PDEW to support much less LNK.
