Antonov Airlines Transporting 767 Tanker Components

Thu May 25, 2023 7:41 pm

There’s an AN124 en route to Melbourne, FL (KMLB) that will load up with 767 tanker components and fly west to Boeing Field support the integrity of the Boeing assembly line.

The airplane is due to arrive at 1740L today (25May) and depart Friday morning.

Seems very odd that they were allowed in the US at all.

Odd for Antonov Airlines to be allowed in the U.S.? They are Ukrainian registered and have been operating since the start of the war. Volga Denpr and their Russian-registered An-124s have definitely been banned for quite some time now.

Antonov, while known for making Soviet era transporters, is actually a Ukrainian company. Their HQ is at the Hostomel Airport Northwest of Kyiv that the Russians tried (and failed) to take.

Depends on the components. It’s possible that some may be installed post-assembly/B1 flight at BFI.

Makes perfect sense, I mistakenly was thinking of the dark blue and white livery, not the light blue, yellow, and white.
