BMI In C: ORD-MAN: Best C Class Ever!

Fri May 17, 2002 4:14 am

I had the fortune of travelling ORD-MAN on BD in C lass a couple of months ago. Hands down it was the best C class service I have ever experienced (comparing to UA, DL, VS, LH, and SR).

I truly hope BD expands its international product to other markets.

I have only taken BD in Europe and I found them a great airline. I am not surprised they are great over the water.

New BA C-class services is better than BMI C-class. It truly is great.

About BAs C-Class.

I don't like the layout at all, facing each other isn't cool, and the thought of someone staring at me for 8-10 hours isn't nice. Also the new BA seats seem very narrow.

I have flown BA J class and I really don't see what people complain about...yes, seats are slightly narrower than I would like, but you don't actually see the other person's face at all....that is why there is a privacy screen between each pair of seats...I also flew backwards too...on my flight to Cape Town, the reaction amongst the pax was actually very positive, so.....

As for BMI, nice to hear they have a good J/C class, Business Traveller magazine also gave them a good thumbs up on a recent trip report IAD-MAN.

Hope they continue their American flights, and perhaps expand to Canada or Mexico (or eastwards...)

Indeed, out of the carriers featured in the BT article, bmi was the only one to get 5 stars, ahead of Cathay, Virgin, Continental, amongst others.

It's nice to see the brand beginning to get some recognition finally.

Seeing as BA has been mentioned, I have to say that, generally, I believe it's a fine product. I've used it twice, and on both occasssions I was upstairs on a 744. There's far more space up there, especially the window seats. I'm not so sure about the main J/C cabin; when I went for a walkabout during the night, the sight of people under blankets lying head to toe reminded me of a refugee camp !! It just didn't 'look' right.
Having said that, I found the seat itself to be a little narrow, but the ability to stretch out flat for a business class fare is pure heaven.

For people who don't specifically need the flat bed, I think the overall bmi product just has the edge, but as with everything, these days the differences are so slight that it boils down to personal preference and experience.
