US BAc 1-11's

Thu May 30, 2002 6:55 am

While i was down at MCO in April i noticed on a remote piece of tarmac some old USAir BAc 1-11's. They looked awful! Why are they still there? I belive they were retired from service atleast 13 years ago?

Those planes are used for training fire fighters. I wonder why they didn't paint over the US Air lettering, though.

Are you sure they are used for fire-fighting training? They haven't moved, at all, in at least a decade!

I took my information from another photograph of the same aircraft. Have a look at the caption.

YES THEY ARE used for firetraining as i was involved in their last exercise and got the fun of laying out under it as a victim inhaling smoke, getting drenched in AFFF and ending up with a cold and a bad cough from the smoke inhalation

no they were removed when i did the drill in NOV 00 no clue how long they were gone before that though... funniest thing is the plane was on fire completley smoke gushing out everywhere and they would bank the a/c taking off away so they wouldnt see it...

folks just disregard our company's bac-111 its not really on fire
