The Best Place To SIT On A Delta 777

Tue Oct 08, 2002 8:18 am

Hello everyone. I'm flying on a 777 with Delta for the first time in January and was wondering where was the best (perferably window) seat on the plane. I've read where people get stuck having seats with the PTV boxes where their feet should be and it being very uncomfortable. Is their any window coach seats where this does not happen. Please let me know so I can change my seat to that place. Thanks!

Take any of the second-fifth row from either of the economy class bulkheads. Be sure to reserve A - seat. You don't know if you are going to end up in a 3-3-3 or 2-5-2 plane and in that sence the right side of the plane is problematic. But every plane has A as window.

Right up front there is this special room with a great view. Try the seat on the left. Big grin

Seriously though, for a coach seat 44A is probably the best. Exit row window.

B747-437B is right!  Smile 44A is the first seat in the second economy bulkhead. DL1965 is of course a 777. The seat configuration for this particular flight is 2-5-2 and 44A is empty at the moment for your flight! (unless DL is holding it back!) 46J would also be a bulkhead as there is a toilet on the right hand side. Anyway, I have not been on this variant so the only advice I can give you is get row A or row J and that those look like the bulkhead numbers. Of course I actually like to sit quite far back sometimes so I can view of the engines, etc... Anyway have a great flight. It's only a short one!! Enjoy

Right now, I'm reserved for 47J. I wanted to have my own PTV so I decided to sit on a behind the bulkhead.

Actually, the bulkhead seats on the DL 777's *do* have their own PTV - it's the kind that flip out of the arm rests. There's also a a small LCD screen on the wall.

I can tell you the worst place to sit...

In the back, at least on the 2-5-2 configs, there's a point where the cabin tapers and the layout goes to 2-4-2. If you sit in the first row of 2-4-2, you have these problems:

- PTV doesn't line up with your seat, since your seats are offset compared to the row ahead of you. Same deal with tray tables.
- At your feet are not only the IFE boxes, but also the rails from the seats ahead of you, again, due to the offset.
- Lights from the galley are bright and they don't turn them off.

I can also tell you the best place to sit:
